Well about time, I finally struck gold just 30' away from the last part of the road extension. For the past 400' its been nothing but rocks rocks and more rocks, looks like another 10 more yards of more dirt then rocks for a change, thank God I was getting sick and tired of transporting bucket full of dirt 400+feet, the stuff fills in lot quicker when just scoop and go, and only going 30'.
From here on out in the next 1000' its going to be mostly cutting brush and as few trees as possible, I already have enough firewood down for the next two years scattered all over timbuktoo. The thing to do now is get the marking tape out and try to find the flattest path, I might use a compass so I wont end up in SC.

This is what it looked like when I cut down the brush, the above pictures the tractor is on the opposite side, if you look close you can see a slight difference.

This is about how every Stihl I’ve ever seen looked without pressurizing the tank. IMG_8927.JPG

Oooh my son wouldn't think that is very funny, he's a Stihl man. But 30 years ago I had 044 Stihl, after a year bar oil was getting in the fuel, had to split it and replace the gasket, think I got a couple more years out of it, never had one since.

I have 3 Stihl saws downstairs 029, 390, and 211, and a husky 51. The husky is the only one that leaks. In fairness, I am not the original owner of the husky, I received it free, so I don't know what kind of life it led before joining my collection. I replaced the caps, but I have to store it on its side, or else it leaks full tanks out in about a week. I think we can all agree that we have had different experiences with equipment, and have different reasons for using what we use. Kind of like trucks, motorcycles, lawn mowers, sawmills, vacuums or anything else.

You should be able to replace the oiler if it leaks that badly. There may also be an o-ring in there someplace that you can fix.

Or you can continue to lay it on it's side to prevent it from leaking, saving yourself time and money. We all know that taking things apart to fix one thing often leads to other complications.

Where do you use a ratchet strap on building something, you using them like come-a-long?

Millions of uses!! come-a-long, a clamp, to hold something to your loader that you shouldn't be doing alone, holding stuff in place till you can secure it, and the list goes on..

I pulled my truck out of a pothole this spring using only the factory bottle jack designed for changing tires, and a ratchet tiedown. It took me 4 hours, but when I started the rear wheels weren't touching the ground.
