Choosing just one grease..

I was saying that the snowmobiles don't seem to have as many zerks as they used to. Seems like they had a lot more back in the day. I'll have to check to see if my Yamaha has a jackshaft zerk. If it does, I've never greased it.

Just checked Amsoil and it seems they have a new online store in Canada? Is this new? I know I've tried to track down some specific Amisoil products in the past, and couldn't olny order them through a few specific dealers.

Thanks, I will check out their grease.

Yes, Amsoil has a new Canadian website. Not sure why the link didn't work but I think I got it fixed. Shipping isn't too much, free if order is over $100 I believe, but I usually order enough other stuff to take advantage of the free shipping. Dutchy

I've used that grease. I bought it at Rural King. I'm glad I didn't pay the ebay price. I remember paying $1.50 for a tube of grease and it didn't seem that long ago. Now some are over $10.00. I find that I grease more with a lower priced grease. I guess I'm reluctant to pump dollar bills out of my grease gun. I don't farm hundreds of acres like we did when I was a kid. I only mow about 4 acres and cut a little firewood. Haven't had any noticeable wear from using lower priced grease.
Mystik 14 oz High Temperature Grease - 112

Rualking sems to have the best buy on Mystik grease if one lives close to that store, cost $16.00 to ship 10 tubes to me in ME but it's still a bit cheaper then ebay.

Mystik isn’t a bad grease, but a higher quality grease should allow for longer service intervals. We grease daily but can easily do a 12 hour day of nonstop loader action.

If I try to get more then 8 hr I start hearing that squeaking noise on my bucket pins, maybe it's the pin design not allowing enough grease to stay in the pins. Maybe what needed is a gun mounted in the cab with lines ruining to loader pins for automatic greasing by the push of a button, people with 6 tractors and implements must go crazy doing all that greasing not to mention all the grease zerk prep cleaning... Hey fellow Canuck,
I use Amsoil Synthetic Multi-purpose grease in everything that I own. And for the same reason...one grease gun. From mower spindles to FEL and everything in between. You mentioned snowmobiles don't have grease zerks anymore? You sure about that? Our Yamaha's (2016) have multiple zerks on the track suspension and even on the clutch ... we use it here too due to the water washout quality. If you can't find it locally they ship it right to you.

My 2cents, Dutchy

Ditto. Best "compromise" grease out there IMHO. If you don't need the high impact properties of high moly content, I would say it's the best out there. Not cheap though, I bought a 35lb pail. Filled this with it, as steal at 122.00CAD btw...

5, PSI Air-Operated Grease Pump | Princess Auto

Once and done. No leaks, gun is great quality. I grease inside the shop 95% of the time, so air requirements are not an issue. All I need now is a lube shuttle grease gun, some empty tubes and a refill adapter, and I will be all set for all my greasing needs, leak free.

A lot of times I been having trouble getting grease out of my 20v Dewalt grease gun after changing the tube. I always just stick the new tube in and open the air screw at top and most times that enough but after several time of not being enough I went on youtube and watch some long boring videos by people that wont get to the point. This video showed how to get the air out by just pulling the T-handle back out and give it a 1/4 turn and then push it back in, but he leaves the grease cartridge backed out a bit, but I find if tighen up, loosen the air screw then push in the T-handle, the air comes out and then I push the trigger the grease comes right out, no more just holding the trigger waiting for grease to come out.....

@3:03-ish- 5:25-ish this guy shows the T-handle twist>(I did not know that T-handle did that) and I didn't feel like trying to read Dewalt LOUSY direction booklet...

I fourth this.

Nothing wrong with Lucas Xtreme green as a "standard" grease, but it is not in the same class as the Amsoil. Water washout, oil separation, are all very ordinary.

Fine if you like greasing equipment, but the Amsoil will provide better long term protection if you only grease occasionally. Probably less of a mess in a standard plunger style gun too.

I actually picked up the Lucas green when I was out as I couldn't wait on the Amsoil, plus I need to put together a shopping list if I order from them. Not exactly cheap at $10 a pop around here though.
