That looks a bit lightweight all around, but it isn't designed to pick things up; merely hold them so that they don't roll off. It seems perfect for somebody who cuts a lot of wood, but also uses his bucket constantly.

Wonder how much pressure that that thumb creates, but think if it was me though I'd brace it just a bit more, hold in place would be a big help in the right direction.

I think it has enough pressure

@14:00 Is this the right way to use a tractor grapple or is this just the pool man trimming hedges around the shooting tower......
WICKED Grapple Testing FULL Video by Everything Attachments - YouTube
I hope you all read the first comment by EverythingAttachments and realize that this was product testing, trying to simulate all the things an owner can/would do with their grapple before they hit the market, and not some Maine-iac doing yardwork on a Saturday...

All I saw in that video was, a screaming whining tractor getting abused, showing how much more difficult it is to get things done with a dedicated grapple, that pallet forks with a matching grapple would do MUCH easier, and NOT be nearly as hard on the tractor, getting it done!

A dedicated grapple works great in that scenario... just not with that operator!

Sounds like while there is more then one way to skin a cat, there is only ONE RIGHT way....your way.

As I pulled onto my road last night I saw that this gnarly old ash tree had finally given up the ghost.
TreeA.jpg
It was from a small abandoned house lot with a burned out house so I contacted the town 1st Selectman and got permission to take care of it.
I went home, put the grapple on the tractor, grabbed my saw, a tow chain and a few other items and headed back up. The top was hung up in trees on one side of the road while the trunk was still partially attached to the roots. TreeB.jpgI was standing there trying to decide the best plan of attack when my neighbor showed up, loaded for bear. We put a rope over the center of the tree and dragged it down, then he commenced to saw it up while I hauled the debris off and put it in the back yard of the place where it came from.Tree1.jpgTree2.jpeg

Just as we got it cleaned up and everything back into our respective vehicles it started to rain.

Really?? In the first part, I would have (at just above idle, in my gear drive tractor) pushed my pallet forks right under that rotted stump, grappled it, and out of the ground it would have come!

NO screaming/squealing/whining, pizzing around, like I saw with that dedicated grapple that couldn't even do the job.

AND it goes on from there.....as I NOTHING that, that grapple could do, better than pallet forks with a matching grapple!
