Well someone MUST think this is a UTOPIA. That place next door with a really crummy old farm house and 35 acres, that I could have bought twenty years ago for just over 100 grand, was listed less than a week at $719,000 and S O L D !!! I can't believe it!

To add insult to injury. A huge portion of our taxes goes to Education, and now the teachers are getting paid as usual for doing even less than they usually do. (If that's even possible).
I live in the Northeast, and was thinking that some pay more in taxes than the average wage here. That must be what it's like to have an economy...
Or, a lack of an Economy and depends entirely on taxes. I pay no taxes (except to Uncle Sam) so I receive few benefits. Been in the boonies so long I guess I don't understand where all those levied taxes go and how those taxpayers benefit.

Supposed to be for roads, schools, police, fire, EMS, parks, recreation and other civic services. Some communities operate senior centers. A lot of it gets pocketed though.

If I understood how the taxes work here better, I would have bought land in a much cheaper County. Smith County, where I live, pays a massive amount for the Junior College, plus my local school district. The JC tried to raise taxes so they could take more houses under eminent domain, but it was leaked that they had millions in cash after giving raises to their staff. They lost that in the election, took those houses and built tennis courts where they had been. Then in the next election they showed that they didn't have much left in their cash reserves and needed that increase in taxes, which they managed to get in the election.
Our worse enemies are those that vote in every new tax increase!!!!
