I added doors to the front of my open sided machine shed a few years ago. Used single track for two doors. I added track out past the ends of the shed so the doors could open that way and have the whole side of the shed open at the same time. I'm not sure that was such a good idea. When open, the doors are susceptible to wind.

I suppose double track would be the most logical in your case. But, I'd have done it just like you did. Using what you already have.

I've got several squares of concrete that I have repurposed over the years. Using a couple right now as a temporary sidewalk to our new house until we get an apron poured this Spring.

Unfortunately I don't have any with my kids handprints. That is very cool!!!!

Nice work and thanks for the updates!!!

Thanks. I looked into dual track rails, but the dual track holders are at TSC for $49.95 each. A twelve foot track has 7 attach points and I don't really know if the flat face rail would line up with the dual rail. I don't need to be a math wizard to see $$$. Besides, I didn't want to take the time to take the rest of the tin and track cover off to install dual tracks.

I made angles and little "skate" wheels and installed them at each end of the door runs. That way a gust of wind won't lift them up. The store bought angles and wheels are spendy also.

Yeah door hardware gets expensive very quickly. I would have done it like you did.

My Aunt Charline was a Barn Stormer Pilot back when. First female licensed Pilot in Howard County Iowa. She also gave people rides in her plane. She landed in our pasture once when I was 8 or 9. I thought she was a Goddess. She's on the right in this pic. Her plane behind her.

Awesome!!! I sure would have loved to have met her. Dad started flying when he enlisted in WWII the day after Pearl Harbor. He told me a story of a barn stormer landing in the pasture and asking for a ride to town. That would have been in the 1920-30s.

Your Aunt has what looks like a Piper Cub. I worked on a Super Cub once. They all were awesome, simple airframes.

Yep, Piper Cub.

She was a wonderful, adventurist woman!!!! I think you and she would have had a great visit. :D

I haven't worked too much on the door trim. I've been moving dirt and trying to keep the airline running!

Also making me a mobile fueling station. You can see that thread here.......... https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums...23576-mobile-fueling-station.html#post5699863

I made a door stop out of 2.5 inch square tube, cut it into a C and installed it after some white rust-o-leum. You can see the 6 inchtall white door stop in the lower right corner of the photo.
I did get most of the walk-thru door trimmed out.

Barn shed enclosure now has lights and receptacles. 4-23-20 Shed Lights Installed.jpg4-23-20 Shed Lights Looking Out.jpg4-23-80 Shed Hanging Lights.jpg I also added a 220 volt receptacle for the welders or the planer. 4-25-20 Welding Plug Installation.jpg The conduit support clamps are reversed. 4-25-20 Welding Plug Conduit Clamp Support.jpg It is near the walk-thru door. Two inner poles, between the two bays, have electrical receptacles on them and I painted them orange. 4-23-20 Center Pole Orange Plug.jpg Easier to see when moving equipment around.

I use these roller brackets to keep the doors from uplifting with a gust of wind. 4-27-20 Barn Door Roller Bracket.jpg4-27-20 Barn Door Roller.jpg I will be adding 10 foot of rail, after the Mallard hens hatch their nest of eggs right inside the tin that has to be removed for the rail track installation. The door, when all are open, will hang out 2 feet past the building. I have a gate there also. I will have to cut the gate down 6 or so inches and install a post. The post will also help support the door in gusts of wind.

Eddie,
Feel free to use this "bright" idea.
hugs, Brandi:laughing:

Seems like I've seen bright orange faceplates and outlets somewhere before. I never really thought about it before, but seeing how well it shows up in your shop, I can see how smart it is to do this.

When I enclosed the shed on the barn, I went ahead and bought a 10 foot door rail, 10 foot of flat to corragated tin, and a white door track cover. After the hot summer we are having. I attacked removing tin and installing the rail. All in four hours.7-30-20 Door Rail Tin Removal.jpg7-31-20 Rail Installed.jpg8-1-20 Tin Going Back On.jpg

the bright orange are usually hospital grade generator outlets. Lets people know what outlets are generator backed up

Building dated now but here Red Outlet with or without Red cover plate on stand-by power.

Orange is Isolated Ground for sensitive electronics/instruments which was popular with new builds in the 90's

Green Dot is Hospital Grade.

I'm Hubble throughout patient care areas and in 25 years not one has gone bad... expensive but quality...
