ROPS for a YM 276D

The ROPS sold online does NOT fit the YM276D. Apparently the YM276D has different rear axle as Aaron suggested. That said, a neighbor fabricated a bottom componet to bolt to the bolts holding on the fenders.

The photo below shows the fabricated lower section.

The ROPS sold by Hoye, sourced from Fredricks and made by the original OEM fabricator, has those fender-attachment bolts but also a much more rugged attachment to the back of the transmission.

See the first photo in this thread. While your design should be fine for a simple tipover I think the OEM heaver design would be better for a crash while moving.

I shall try to be stationary should the tractor tilt over. Actually Hoye doesn't sell a ROPS for the YM276D because of the unique rear end on that model. Fredricks folks stated they don't have a ROPS for the YM276D, but that's likely because they primarily sell the grey-market models. The OEM design of the YM240 you show looks superior, but alas this is the only ROPS advertised as available for the YM276D. It's made for other models, but does NOT fit the YM276D.

Hopefully no one else orders the ROPS advertised for the YM276D since the bottom bracket does NOT fit with the YM276D at all.

Maybe you can post images of the areas that had to be re-worked to get the Hercules ROPs to fit on your YM276D. Then others with the same model or a close one can do the same.

Very good points.

Here are my Fredricks ROPs made by Custom Products, LLC. attached at the axle of the YM2610.
(ignore the ripped seat, that was my fault.) :confused2:
