Anyone else love tools like I do?

I have tool boxeS full of tools of every kind, been buying them since the late 60's, early70's...

I made pouches for my wrenches out of canvas tarp material, they each have a pocket to fit into. That way I can easily grab a whole set and take them out to the job...

It's one of the smartest things I've done!

My dad had several sets of tools bundled up like that. He kept one in each car. Really handy. :thumbsup:

I was going down that path (separate rolls of tools for each vehicle) until about 5 years ago when Lowes was clearing out their Blue Hawk line. I bought about 10 sets of their 185 piece tool kit.

For about $10@!
Spread them amongst my 4 children, my vehicles, my shops. Still have one left unopened.

I am slowly realizing I prefer the beach and travel to working on things like my home and car. Doesnt keep me from making a trip to the hardware store once a week to but a tool though. If something breaks I see it as an opportunity to go buy a tool.....

My oil wrench is a steel band and handle, nothing that fancy. I love my tools, and I can tell you where about 40% of them are right now. That number goes up to 80% if i hit a 5' radius.

I don't have a toolbox, I have a toolgarage. No way my tools can fit in any container.

Holy cow, do you actually work there? Just asking....

To think. The man was "probably" born into this world with NOTHING! AMAZING what we NEED! lol

I do feel fortunate though. Better Tools than, toys, collectables, hobby and recreational stuff.

I made a very decent living with my tools and though now retired still find myself buying that just right tool for the project at hand.
My wife wants to know if there is a Tool Hounds Anonymous organization I could attend.

All those cute little bow tie tool wraps, bags and pads just means you don't use tools very much. I have about eight tool boxes and none of them have that stuff. There's not enough room! Nine, if you count the little Craftsman 2-drawer I use for yard/remote tool needs. If I need more than what fits in that, I bring the work to the shop. I'm fortunate to have a lathe, mill and metal working tools in addition to the mechanics tools. I also do paint.

It never ceases to amaze me, how many tools I often have out at the completion of a "simple" task. Tools usually do get put away, but I still have a HUGE mess everywhere from finished projects.

I've been purchasing tools for half a century and never ever in my life have I witnessed what I got today.

As all of us are sick of cheap China tools and Cheap oil wrenched that break on us. In fact, I once broke a weld on a cheap piece of junk oil wrench as the filter was so tight.

Anyway, take a gander at how these oil wrenches were packaged. They have die-cut foam with a piece of foam under the perfect size box for the tools

I like good packaging, and those look great. Does the tool quality look like it's as nice as the packaging? I'm sure those are imported like nearly everything these days, but in what country are they made?

I'm kinda sorta organized, I clump small tooling by category in separate drawers, bins or whatever. But I just toss it in there, and still have to rifle thru the drawer to find it when I need it. But at least I know where it is.
