Bent subsoiler

I have the same KK ss and pull it with a 50hp. Never had a problem. The right size pins and everything tight. 18 inches deep, one pass. But no roots or rocks.

See post #16. Get a quick hitch it greatly helps. Get the correct bushings and the hitch prevents implement pin rotation in the lower arm ball. Same principle as implement with 2 tabs and a pin. Great idea to reinforce the tabs also.

I'm not sure what your tractor weighs, so this may just happen again after you straighten it and reinforce it. Weight/available traction has more bearing on pulling force than machine HP normally does. You can try it and see, but I'd personally keep an eye out for something a little more substantial for a tractor that size. Something CAT1&CAT2 capable with shear bolt protection on the subsoiler shank would be ideal. Nobody wants to have to repair broken stuff every time they use an under-sized implement. I understand completely trying to save money on an implement that may see very limited use in your application though. Depending on how often you expect to need it, I'd try the repair/reinforce route if you only need it for an occasional small job. If regular subsoiler use is in your future though, it might be worth your time to just upgrade now. Good luck!

You’re wasting your time trying to straighten the exposed pin tabs. Anything pulled by something bigger than a lawnmower needs pins supported on both sides. IMG_8995.JPG

And, if you are gonna get an implement that big,, you REALLY need a bigger tractor,,,

Isn't a bigger tractor the recommended solution to everything on TBN ?

:D

If it can't lift the new 4,000 pound hay bales four high it ain't worth buying. You know you save a lot with them big bales.

And a lot taller hay barn.

My point was that for another dollar, they coulda added a small gusset or otherwise arranged for the pin not to be attached to a cantilevered tab.

Having worked a carrier in tool and die shops, anyone with mechanical common sense will know things like this.. Problem is some bean counter up the food chain will convince someone that dollar looks better on a cash sheet somewhere, regardless of dissatisfied customers... I've fought that battle 1000 times and lost 998 times... It is the way they are...

Think you mean career, not carrier unless you were in transportation.......:D
