See image. Have 50hrs on my 3515R and it appears there are some small black chunks in the fuel filter bowl. More importantly it looks like there is a large red o-ring in the bottom. No running issues. I was going to remove and take apart to see if I could put o-ring back, then I realized it looks like a sealed unit.

What are your thoughts on best course of action?

You have to replace the whole unit. Red o ring is a water indicator.

Ok, so basically there is nothing wrong with it and it’s indicating no water? That’s good news.

That's right.

If you had indeed water, you would just open the drain on the bottom of the filter, drain all the water out plus a little bit of diesel as good measure and you would be good to go.

IIRC, the red ring is a float. When you have water in the bowl the red ring floats on top of the water to indicate you have water. At least that's what my manual states. But my float is white. I don't think it matters. B.
