How to remove power pole

Most of those service entry poles are a dinky pole. I’ve chained those to the pallet fork frame and pulled them. If it’s a full size pile I wouldn’t attempt it.

Chained it to my 3pt drawbar first and shook it loose and lifted it a couple feet.

That should have been the dry run for the one in the background.

I have a pole in the center of my field that is crooked from the day it went in back in 73. Can I just dig on one side (with the hoe) and push it straight, or best to leave it alone? Would be stupid and expensive if I broke it off.

Wow!, Ovrszd That looks a lot like my pole, about the same size. I should have you come pull it out for me.

Digging a hole along side it sounds like the best idea so far to save it. However I forgot to mention that there is a high voltage power line buried in the vicinity. The locate line passed by within a few feet. (Don't ask me why anyone would do such a seemingly stupid thing). So maybe cutting it down is a better option. But that bipod idea is interesting too.... I think I will just keep thinking about it 'till next spring.

If it's cedar I'd make sure it isn't rotten below ground before trying to save it. Around here cedar rots underground within a few years.

Holy Moley - I guess. Now, ovrszd, how did you safely get the pole off the FEL - ??

Before I got to your response I didn't think anyone would ask that obvious question. :)

Well,,,, my plan was to roll the bucket forward and lay it on the ground..... That didn't work out. I couldn't get it under the tractor. Too much angle as it started under.

So I leaned it into a nearby tree. Unchained and moved to the side and picked it up sideways.

Thanks for catching that and asking!!! :)

Thanks for your answer - ovrszd. Leaning into a tree - man, THAT'S using the 'ol noggin. That one picture certainly shows the hazards that you could encounter using a tractor. The tractor in the pic - doesn't seem to be one listed in your profile. What size Kubota is it??
