I will agree, there are some people in Law Enforcement who should not be, and also administrations that are totally chicken poop for setting up speed traps just to make money. I can think of several off hand.

Ayup. We don’t even look at cars until they’re 10-15 mph over. Even school zones we give 5-6 mph.

The inane questions help establish a baseline. It’s not always looking for “something”.

I walk around almost every vehicle I stop with a flashlight (at night).

You can say that about any profession.

Convince me of what?...I've not denied anything just questioned the percentages (i.e.. the effectiveness)...again...repeating something like a mantra does not make it so...sorry to burst your bubble...!
Too **** funny...!...For someone that claims to have a complete grasp of the matter...you constantly prove otherwise...a journal article? really?....all conclusive huh ??..LMAO...you are delusional...

There has simply not been enough time for conclusive or comprehensive testing...jumping to conclusions based on incomplete data is absurd but it's what you've done from the onset...The only thing you have proven is that there are several sources of the same or similar incomplete research...

Anyone that contests your absurdity all you do is rebut with a condescending diatribe implying inferiority to your omnipotence of an inexact, incomplete science project...

Show me real numbers comparing the number of people who were wearing masks and still became infected...show me the numbers...not just people that did not get infected because of masks and or other PPE.

You are the perfect exemplar of Monty Python's black knight in the Holy Grail...too funny...!

No, I respond with condescending diatribe when it is clear the individual is trolling. I supplied you with 20+ scientific studies that paint the entire picture (not the repeated study over and over as claimed). How many have you read?

You want numbers? Read the articles I posted. That's where they are.

Let's try this, if you are so sure that face coverings aren't important and make no difference, prove it with references to scientific studies. I'll wait.

Oh, and no, University sponsored research is not from a private sector. Again, you have no idea how university sponsored research works.First, the vast majority of Universities are public. As in, sponsored by the state. Even in the cases of private Universities, such as where I work, the "funding" is simply "here is money to hire a graduate student to assist on a project of your choosing." If your're lucky there may be a few dollars for buying needed supplies as well. There is nothing asked in return, other than at most, progress reports to show the money has been spent wisely and you are actually doing the work you said you would. You are not beholden to them, you do not report to them on your results, there is absolutely nothing that is expected in return (again, other than do the work). It is just like a federal grant, but from the University.

So, sorry to blow another hole in another of your unsubstantiated theories.

Again, If everyone spent a couple years as a police officer, their outlook on life would forever be changed. You will never see human interaction the same way.

This is just one of the reasons I have the utmost respect for police officers. I can't imagine dealing with the crap they do, seeing the absolute worst in people, and then trying to go home and pretending life is normal with your family.

Do they annoy me sometimes? Sure. Whenever I'm willfully speeding, I NEVER get pulled over. When I am trying to be obedient, but am absent minded, then I get a ticket.

But, then I remember they have to make judgement calls on a daily basis that could have serious life and death consequences and figure, yeah, it's probably not worth getting too bothered about

Another reason it's BS for you to say you wish they would have busted you.

Not picking on you. Just making it clear that it was your fault. Not the LEO's fault for not busting you.

We haven't became a nation of "it's not my fault" overnight. This has been growing for decades....

What are you talking about? Where did I blame the LEO or anyone else for my stupid actions? I said I wish someone would have stopped me, not, it's someone else's fault for not stopping me.

If you say so.....lol

When I pull over an adult without a seatbelt on, I inform them of the violation, then move on to whatever I stopped them for. Same way it is for many things. Same it would be if I was unlucky enough to work somewhere with a mask law.

Same way it plays out 1000s of time a day in the US. That absolutely is discretion.
I actually had an officer get flustered with me over a ticket when he was trying to cut me a break and give me a seat belt ticket instead of a speeding ticket.

I was in a work truck and the speedometer was apparently out of calibration.

So I was thinking I was a couple miles per hour over the speed limit. But was actually closer to 15 mph over. I was sure wondering why there were so many slow pokes out on the road that day (truck was a loaner while mine was in the shop).

Cop stopped me. After a discussion he said he was gonna issue me a seat belt ticket instead of the speeding ticket.

I asked for the speeding ticket He asked why, and thats when I explained that the company I worked for had a zero tolerance policy on seat belt use. You get a seat belt ticket, you get canned.

He ended up just giving me a written warning. Then followed me down to the gas station parking lot after telling me to hit an assigned speed on the speedometer to help me get an idea of how far off at what speeds to keep me out of trouble for the rest of the day.

How do you deal with dark tinted windows at night? Man, I hate those things. You can't see the other driver's eyes at a stop sign in daylight, how can you see inside at night?

Do that all the time, stop for a moving violation (points) but have a brake light out, I’ll write the brake light, etc). I try not to write commercial drivers at all.

It’s easier now with led lighting on our cars and in our hands, but usually have them put down all windows on the approach side.
