power steering weak

First to understand the layout of your power steering.

The main hydraulic pump sends its flow first to a priority flow control valve which ensures that the steering always has the pressure and flow it needs before any other function like the 3 pt hitch or loader.

The steering box is the place where hydraulic power assists the steering movement. There is no hydraulic cylinder.

Has your hydraulic system run low on fluid or been disassembled before this issue started?

A kit is not going to help you.

I went through the B2400 WSM special tools section looking for the gauge and accessories to test the steering. The WSM is not clear on what you need and I expect Kubota dealers have a unique gauge set for testing steering on many models of tractors.

Most relief valve tests do not require a Tee.

The testing instructions call for the original steel hydraulic pipe to be removed and another special pipe with a Tee fitted for the test.

2. Remove the power steering delivery pipe (2).
3. Install the pressure gauge (5) to another power steering delivery pipe (2), and connect it to the original position.

Look at the parts illustration I have marked up showing where you have to Tee into the high pressure line going to the steering box.

Look at the photo (supplied by Messicks) of the high pressure steel line feeding the steering box.

You need to remove the steel line and go to a local hydraulics shop and ask them to braze in a tee on your steel line which can then be plugged for normal operation once the test is done.

The gauge needs to be on the end of a length of hose.

Ignore the marked up illustration showing a Tee at the end of the steel line

As a side note: DO NOT remove that line until you have marked/indexed the location of the Tee in relation to the end connections. Otherwise, the shop could braze the tee and the part you get back cannot be installed. Or the open end of the tee is not accessible after installed.

OK thanks, will try this. Is there not a flare "T" fitting that would go in there using compression fittings rather than brazing a fitting in line

No compression fittings allowed!!

You are not dealing with a water or propane line but a hydraulic line with over 2,000 psi.

A small invisible leak can inject fluid through your skin requiring immediate hospital visit.

This line needs to be taken very seriously from a safety perspective

Think of this line like a brake line on your car.

If you had the tools and skill you could do a double flare connection.
