Not rocket surgery. Apply the most draconian restrictions to densely populated areas. Relax them in the boonies. States know the population density in every county and city. BTW our governor restricted travel at one point...that helps the concept of flexible restrictions. Of course those rules did not apply to the governor’s family...just the peasants.

People travel to and from all of those locations. You have to stop all travel, not just some travel.

My future son-in-law's father lives in the boonies in upstate New York. He got it. Doesn't have a clue where he would have picked it up. He gave it to his fiancé as well. At least she knows where she got it from.

Sweden is down to 3 Covid related deaths per day with a population of 10,000,000.

That doesn't even show on the chart. If a vaccine were that effective, we would all be claiming it a miracle drug.

Of Course, Spain with 50 deaths and a population of 47,000,000 is fairing quite well also.

Seasonal flu basically. A bad one, but it's following the pattern.
Isolation of the population has no future except to prolong the agony.
You want to know what's better than 3 deaths/day? Their Scandinavian neighbors. They are averaging 0 deaths/day.

Finland has had 6 TOTAL deaths since July 1st. In almost 2 months, 6 total deaths. Norway has had 14 since July 1.

In that same time, Sweden has had over 250 TOTAL deaths. So, which is better, 250 deaths, or 6 or 14?

First, these are IN ADDITION TO the seasonal flu.

People that keep saying it's the same as the seasonal flu are spreading false information. There are less of you each month as you get educated it seems, but you persist.

This. ^^ But most states/localities are already doing their best to do just what you say. Some big cities are suffering from mayoral/party differences, but it seems darn few of them o'all, governors, or local authorities are paying for bad decisions.

btw, this virus isn't just 'out there everywhere' so there will be regions/countries where there is little to spread.

All those numbers are just fine. zero is fine, 6 is fine, 3 is fine. 250 is fine These nations all converge on the exact same point. (Even Spain and the UK). The point of Insignificance. 3 MILLION people will die in America this year. NO ONE KEEPS AN EXACT COUNT. It is that inevitable! We ALL DIE! Life is a fatal disease!
Mistakes were made, many elderly people likely perished months sooner than they might have. (New York in example) But the SARS COV-2 virus is not an uncontrollable killer.

It's a flu virus, much like many we have survived previously. Human response mechanisms work!

And the kids just don't get it. We should be thankful for that and cherish their lives of freedom and happiness.

We all die, so we shouldn't worry about doing anything to prevent it if we can. That's your argument?!?!

Somebody needs to set up two cities in old shopping malls; one will be filled with people who take the suggested precautions, the other with residents who don't believe in them. At the end of 12 months, see which loses the most people. That's the only way that we really would know if the current restrictions do anything.

I saw something a couple days ago about an experiment in Germany with crowds and concerts.

Kind of obvious, isn't it? And blame those who get a disease vs those who do nothing to avoid spreading it.

How many other people die from something doesn't matter, only when it's your turn.

Cast down your masks and show 'em you're not afraid to go if/when it comes to your town.

"Out of sight, out of mind." See how easy that is?

btw, gotta go now, at 70 I'm taking up sky diving since I'll die someday anyway.
