JD 550c, 443 bobcat, had an old john ford FEL gone
I have a 100 gallon tank 3ft wide by 2 ft long and 2.5 ft tall approx. anyway i load it in my f250 and then fill it up and fill my dozer and then i have a problem of unloading it onto my scissor lift cart. I have been using my winch and just winching it on with my fj40 behind the truck and the cart in the middle. I have my new to me bobcat 443 with a tooth bucket, and no forks. I am trying to figure out how to lift it in and out of the truck using the bobcat. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks

Your looking at 700-800 pounds there. Get a set of forks for bobcat. Youll be amazed at how often you use them. I personally dont like clip on forks. I like full sized quick attach. Just me.

If you don't want to use forks, how about pair of nylon straps.............Mike

No lifting lugs on the tank? If not, then weld one in the middle or one on each side.

Not visible in this photo but i have a lifting lug on each side of this tank I built. (Lug obscured by nozzle)

Of course as others have mentioned, forks work very well. Perhaps you can add to your skid steers attachment wish list.

If you have a scissor lift that handles the weight, why not just roll the tank off the bed of the truck onto your lift and lower it to working level? Then you don't have to worry about dropping and bursting the tank with the resulting mess. All you need is to build a pallet with wheels for the tank to sit on or if you are cheap like me, a set of dowels underneath will work just as well but be a little more time consuming/headache. Personally, I'd buy a set of forks. As mentioned above, forks are good for so many tasks especially when you can add a pallet for a solid, wide platform. I have my 55 gal tank on a pallet and lift/lower it with forks and place it on a dolly in the shop for moving around.

Lifting lugs on tanks are seldom intended for moving tanks containing product.

Good point which I neglected to mention.

I have a 100 gal diesel tank on a pallet that I routinely move on and off the pickup with ssqa forks. Safe and easy.

Have you considered mounting the tank on a permanent trailer or adding an axle to it to keep you from having to lift it? Even the most careful operators have an accident occasionally and poking a tank with a fork or dropping it can lead to a big mess! Maybe add the tank to the front of an existing trailer?

A picture or two certainly would have helped.

Depending on how valuable your pickup is, I don't like to go near the sides of my box with a loader. From the back or nothing. Often Electric chainhoist in the barn. Lift load and drive away.

Put it on a skid. Kind of hard to weld anything to it now.
