Reading my daily rural stuff and I get yet another no ID phone call. I quit answering these a long time ago. They left no message.
What is a good web site to put the phone number in and see who called?

Tried searching Google and it comes back with tons of the "FREE" services that show nothing but I can pay to see.

Anyone have reliable ones they use or pay to use?

Thanks in advance!!

I use the White Pages reverse lookup. Even when they can't tell you who the phone # is attributed to, they often have a "spam" rating from low to high.

Most of those numbers are spoofed, so it does no good to look them up or even call them back.

The number is probably phony (spoofed) anyway. These scammers today have ways of making your phone display show any number they want. Some scammer was using one of my numbers a few years ago to call local people. One guy called me back and told me someone was spoofing my number to make it look like they were getting a local call. There was nothing I could do about it. Since I didn't know the guy I told the him to block my number so the spoofer / scammer couldn't call back using my number.

My daily calls have a pattern;
on my cell phone, the number calling me has the same area code, then the same 3 digit phone number prefix,, as my phone number,
and usually, only the last 3 digits of the number calling are changed from my number.
I guess they hope that I think they are a "real caller" since the number is similar to mine?

THEN, on the land line;
the call will caller ID from some city or town name in my state,,
When was the last time Bassett VA had a reason to call me?

They will use the same caller ID for 3-5 days, then change to another town,,
Luckily, we only get one of these calls a day.

...Some scammer was using one of my numbers...
I had that once, guy calls me and asked what I wanted.... I told him it wasn't me and that (surprise) they can fake the number... He was nice and apologized. also, learned NOT to call those numbers back!!!

At least here in Fla if you hit star 67 then area code and phone number whoever you dial won't see your number . Its not like its a big secret . Mines an Android dont know if it works with Apple etc ................

Apple came up with a solution, on the IPhone There is a setting, if the name and number isn’t in your list of contacts, it won’t even ring your phone, it goes straight to voicemail, and shows as a missed call. I always assume that if it’s important enough they will leave a voicemail. I always listen to any voicemail that is left. I had to call my Drs. Office back a couple of times because they don’t always call from their “main number” so they go to voicemail.

If i don't recognize the number i don't answer . If important they can leave voice mail.
