Tractor
john deere 2040
Hello all. Well, I finally got my 'new' used tractor and did my first ever bush hogging. Now that I have had some time to really look at it, I found I need a few parts. I can, of course, go to JD but I would prefer not to if at all possible. So, what are some of the website vendors that you all use. Parts will range from rubber boots, decals, tie rod ends, etc. Thank You...

What year is your tractor? Is it old, or just used?

Not trying to hijack your thread speeracer2020 but perhaps we can expand the scope beyond just JD?.
I also just purchased a new to me a 2013 L3800. I sold my L3400 a couple of years ago and have regretted it since :)
There are so many 'generic' parts common to many brands that this thread could be very helpful.
For instance I just ordered in LED lighting for the rear. I was not happy with what I got vs what was advertised (ad said 60watt LED not 60 watt equivalent, actually draws 20.2 watts). If there were positive experiences shared on good sources for lighting, implements, hydraulics, etc it would make my searching a lot more focused. As I have just a loader on my tractor just now, I am looking to add the features I want.
Other than a heavy duty box blade on order,, that I researched for here, I am looking to add a lot of useful 'stuff'.

Amazon has an amazing amount of things for tractors also.

I make the bulk of my one-off online purchases from ebay. amazon is great for new off-the-shelf stuff, but they aren't really geared to the previously owned sector. experiences will certainly vary, but i limit myself to items that ship from us locations only, though i suspect some of the ones i have used may still be foreign sellers but at least they have a us based inventory. the bulk of what i buy online is used "parts" and my experience is that the sellers of used industrial and even new industrial are all pretty decent as a rule. i do my best to get stuff locally as long is it isn't ridiculously cost prohibitive, in which case i go online. mind you i never buy without comparing costs - including shipping.

What I like to do is get the part number off of the manufacturers website and then just Google the part number. Ie xxxxxx bearing or yyyyyyy seal. It doesn't always work but most times with a bit of research you can find reasonably priced parts.
