Who makes a work truck with creature comforts?

Over all the years I've owned vehicles - there is one overriding negative item that sticks out like a sore rectum. Vinyl seats. I can distinctly remember... -25F and plunking down on those rock hard, ice cold seats in our VW. That was part of our winter in Glennallen, AK.

My Bronco & my VW Quantum both had vinyl seats.

There is an answer. A wool blanket - 15 minuets in the dryer - folded just right and draped over the back and seat of the vehicle. At least, the vinyl will soften and the vehicle heater should be kicking in soon.

I had dreams about those vinyl seats. So cold, so hard - my AZZ would freeze to the seat. It was too cold for the vehicle to start. I couldn't get out and eventually I would freeze.

That was about the time I would wake up. The wife had pulled all the blankets over on her side. She was wadded up in a ball under a mountain of blankets.

I TRULY enjoy the heated seat and seat back in the Taco Wagon - in the winter.

The heated seat in my suburban had heated it’s last time and rather than take the effort to fix it I just got a $25 dollar heated cover. I have to say it was probably an improvement over the factory heat. Like you said the vinyl seat is ice cold and takes a while to warm up. The cloth heated cover is warm in a minute or less.

I have cloth seats with cloth covers. I live in n. Idaho and i have never had an issue with cold seats. Cloth never gets hot either. I guess my fat butt keeps me insulated:cool2:

Yeah - well, grsthegreat - never opt for vinyl seats. You aren't fooling anybody. N Idaho gets cold enough to have rock hard vinyl seats -:dance1:

At least they dry better when I accidentally leave the windows down and it rains.

What I used to enjoy about vinyl seats was jumping into the truck after it had been locked up in the sun all day in August, after I had just changed from my work clothes into shorts.
Of course back then we also didn't have AC...

So far, I'm extremely happy with my Hemi 6.4 / ZF 8 speed Ram 2500HD Bighorn level 2 with LED light package, cold weather group, fifth wheel towing package and sunroof. It's been 10 months, it was back at the dealer once (last week) for a water leak, the sunroof has been redesigned and is getting replaced.

It's a fabulous truck, $59K sticker and negotiated to $51K before tax/title. But it's my wife and my favored vehicle to go out in. It's a sexy beast if you ask me!

That bighorn level 2 is a really nice package. Seems to be a good combination of accessories.

I believe it is essentially outfitted as a Laramie with cloth seats non cooled seats. The ventilated seats don't bother me, but I may pay out to have KatSkin Leather applied to my cloth seats for that luxury look and feel that leather gives. But I do have the 8.4' touch radio (no amps or woofers) and cross path, front and rear park assist, power folding mirrors and a bunch of other upscale add ons that a base Bighorn wouldn't get. And the LED lighting package is awesome! I would not ever buy a halogen lighted vehicle again.
