Nice that should keep the lawn mower busy in years to come but why is the grass brown already, you couldn't of had frost yet? They say Jack Frost might show up here this weekend,
I think the lower angle of the sun and all the cut Golden Rod gave it that color...

As for the stickering, the 3x8's (16's) are stronger in that direction and you can use less stickers doing it that way... The lumber came out really straight and the builder kept telling me how much he enjoyed working with it.

The headers were 6"x10", mostly 20' 6" long,

I could probably squeak a 21 footer out of it, but you know how much extra work it is to do something like that. I rarely need anything long like that, so I never lengthened the track.

I milled out some 15x15 beams one time, they sure were heavy!! I stay away from all that heavy work these days!!

My son does, one reason why he'd rather saw cedar decking, me, I'll stay with my day job a couple more years.

Got back to stone wall building and got within 20 feet of finish.

Looks good! I assume you are harvesting your stones from your property?

Thanks.
I am literally digging the stones up from the remains of the old wall that has been scattered and buried 5 feet on either side of original fence line over the centuries.
Our property records go back to the 1790's
I am then building with what I find where I find it so the old stones are mostly remaining where they started.

Smoke has cleared and the weather perfect to work up a little sweat. Well actually my BX worked harder than I did. Cutting down, pulling down small cedar trees in the middle of a stand of larger fir and cedar trees. Most were getting hung up so I had to drop them straight down by cutting 4ft chunks from the bottom. The first one was hung up so I had to chain up and pull it out. Then I dug out all of the stumps.

Probably hard to tell but working in a confined space on a terraced area on otherwise steep terrain. The propane tank is about 4 to 5ft higher in elevation than the tractor.

One of the things I envy about you guys out east is all those great stone walls. Knowing how you come by all those stones for the most part, though, helps to temper that envy.

In my mind that is a noble thing to do. Preserves and shows respect for the past and improves the present looks of your surroundings.
