I'm beginning to think you are the problem driver in your area. And it wouldn't matter where you are, you'd be the problem driver. Hopefully you'll grow out of it. We'll see in 30 years.

Based on what? What could I do to improve? How could I stop being the problem driver?

You'll figure it out. Or you won't.

Your posts on this thread wander all over the road with little consistency. Just like the driver's you are complaining about. You Sir are of the "Me" generation. You actually can't help it. :confused3:

Thatç—´ nothing. I lived in Pinehurst NC for 7 years, itç—´ like a retirement home. Itç—´ not rural but the posted speed limit is 25 mph EVERYWHERE. The average age seems to be 100 years old and by far the blue hairs are the primary drivers.

One of my stepsons lives in Pinehurst, and I didn't get the impression of it being a retirement community the one time we visited. He, and most of his neighbors were all in their 40s.
I did find it hard to navigate the area though...every intersection, street, etc. looked like every other one.

It drives me nuts when I see people pull into the left lane to go slower than other traffic.

I found that very annoying on the drive down to see the aforementioned stepson. Drivers in Virginia were especially bad left lane hogs.

If I thought you would oblige, I would ask you to point out my inconsistency. But that isn't likely from someone making a lazy argument about someone's generation as if it reflects anything at all about the individual. I'm racist because I'm white, sexist because I'm a man, homophobic because I'm straight, and entitled because of the year I was born. I'm glad everyone has a such a good purchase to throw stones.

I would recommend working closer to home or moving closer to work.

I have had old cars and new cars with CC since it came out. The early ones may have acted that way but all others haven't varied by 1mph up hill. Down hill they tend to gain speed though.

Good point, I am noticing that as I spend more time driving pickups with variable speed transmissions. My 2018 Colorado also engine brakes when going downhill with the CC on. Contrast that with the old '93 Dakota I had... everytime it downshifted the CC would add a mile per hour. I would set it for 55 but if not paying attention, before long it would be running at 65.

Also, all that I ever drive is some truck based vehicle so the technology isn't as up to date as on a high end car.

Anybody here ever have someone they knew admit they were a bad driver?

Yeah. Me. I'm a great "driver" as in I can handle a car, truck, bike, etc... quit well. I'm a horrible driver (but working on it) when it comes to cooperating with my fellow drivers on the road. I have great impatience and have to keep it in check constantly. That makes me a bad driver, in my opinion.

My grandma was a bad driver, in that she was timid and scared of other drivers. So is one of my siblings. Other than those two, I don't know any bad drivers in the sense that they shouldn't be on the road.

I would if I could, truly. If anyone could just tell me what I'm supposed to do. But it seems more convenient for people to paste my face on a straw man and throw rubbish. I'm apparently the worst of the worst, a young straight white male; the cause of all that ails the nation. Actually, it's the old straight white male, to everyone but the old straight white male. I'm just tired of being the scapegoat for everyone else's problems and my every success attributed to some privilege that is coincidentally invisible to me. I always ask the same questions; "what can I do fix myself" and "how can I improve?" And never get an answer, just more hurled excrement. Lazy insults. Insult my sex, insult my generation or my genitals. Insult my skin color and then call ME the racist. It's all very tiring. Apparently I'm just supposed to be a punching bag.

Here's what I can tell you as I was your age a while back... right before you go to bed at night, look back on your day and ask yourself if there's anything you should (not could) have done differently in your dealings with everyone you met that day. If you're good with it, then sleep well. If not, make a note of it and work on it tomorrow, and sleep well knowing you're at least making an effort to treat folks the way you'd want to be treated. That's about all there is to it. Golden rule and all. Do unto others... that kind of stuff. :)
