Hi, new to the forums. I haven't had land or a tractor for 15 years so looking at getting back in the saddle. We just bought 20 acres of vacant land, mostly clear with a nice smattering of trees and tree line. The property is not flat. The rise from the road to where we want to build at the back is a 90' rise. This area will all need to be brush hogged as will the flat pasture. I will have 2-3 horses so moving a few small round bales and a bit of snow scraping and general farm stuff.

I was looking at the JD 3032E but quickly realized it would be underpowered for that uphill climb pulling a brush hog. So I found this Kubota package:

L4700DT 47 HP with 39 HP coming off the PTO
5' Land Pride heavy duty brush hog
Land Pride box blade
Kubota front end loader
18' equipment trailer with brakes

Price is $31,000 0% financing

Is there any incentive for me to wait until Jan or is this the best price? Which I kinda think it is.

Welcome to TBN and congratulations on the land! I doubt there will be much change in price by waiting. If you are happy with the Dealer and the tractor seems right for your needs I would say go for it.

I would ask if they have a 20' trailer though. It is amazing how fast a trailer fills up.

Would you happen to know what the actual angle of the slope is that you need to mow? "90 feet" over 20 acres doesn't really tell the details. And an 18' trailer will not be long enough to haul your tractor with FEL and a 5' mower on the 3 pt hitch. You will need at least a 20', maybe longer.

This is what a 6' mower looks like on an 18' trailer:

That is probably a good 3' of overhang.

I keep hearing on this site about a discount Kubota has if you are a member of certain horse assns. You could join one and get a good discount. Check on Kubota website to check it out.

I almost bought an L4701. I do not know what the DT is that you added to that??

My dealer talked me into going to the MX5400 instead of the L4701. Not sure if that would fit what you need or not. It was only about $1700 more that the 47.
I like the front axle better on the MX, as well as the more power and the extra weight the FEL has. Check it out.

I had to look it up. It means 4WD is standard on that model.

I don't know the angle. Let me post a pic of the trailer.

Kubota L471DT Package - Crown Power & Equipment

I clicked on that crown power and equipment deal.
It says 1.99% for 60 months. That must be for that deal because they are adding a trailer in the deal. Heck just buy the trailer with cash and get 0% for 60 months thru Kubota.
Also, looks like that is a gear tractor, not HST?
Oh, I see you will get zero %.
I would still look into joining a horse assn. One of them is free for the first year(cutting horse?)

A 6 foot mower is a far better match for an L4701. Which of course makes the trailer even more out of scale for the package.
