2020 Mahindra 1635 HST
Just joined yesterday but have been getting a lot of information from here for a while. I just bought a new Mahindra 1635 HST with FEL to replace an older, smaller tractor. I was going to take the FEL off but ran into a problem. I couldn't get the right side "handle pin" out. The left side is free and just pulls right out. The right side is under pressure from the loader. I can rotate it if I use a pair of pliers but it has too much weight on it to pull out. I messed around with it and if I put about 300 pounds in the loader bucket, the pin frees right up and I can pull it out easily.

I'm sure I can take it back to the dealership and have them adjust it but was wondering if someone knew how to adjust it. It's obviously just slightly misaligned and it's 4 hours each way to the dealer. Thanks for any ideas. Bill

Are you referring to the two SSQA handles, which secure FEL of the tractor to various SSQA compatible FEL attachments?

Or are you refering to complete removal of FEL from tractor?

The correct nomenclature for the components are contained in your Operator's Manual.

Hi, I'm talking about removal of the entire assembly. The manual calls them handle pins. They're the 2 one inch diameter pins that hold the FEL to the tractor. Thanks, Bill

Some times trash gets behind the pins and can cause all sorts of problems.

You can try to take the loader off and check all the pins and holes, make sure it's clean.

I'll take it off this weekend and check that out. Thank you.

Is this the first time you've removed it? Did it come off properly before? I just wonder if you are on level ground or there is some reason you aren't removing it in a way to get the load off of the pin?

Check manual first, may need to slightly raise front end to remove pressure on pin

It is the first time I've tried to take this one off. Never had a problem with my other tractor. It's new and I think something is misaligned from the initial install.

Try rolling the bucket(dump) enough to start taking the weight off the front end. If that doesn't free the pins then you could be right.

I'll bet you aren't on level ground. Putting a bind on that one pin.

Will do, thanks again.

I've only taken my new loader off once, haven't put it on yet. And I take them on and off a lot. I refuse to pull an implement or something on the 3 PT with the loader on when I can remove it in 2 minutes. With my old 5310 i would invariably not roll the bucket far enough and one pin would release when the other wouldn't. That is almost always because the ground I was on wasn't level. When I got this new loader I had a 20 x 20 slab poured under my equipment shed just for the loader. It does make a difference.

Thanks, I'm going to try it tomorrow.

Is the loader tweaked?
Could be bent cross brace behind the bucket?

Thanks to everyone that responded. I put some weight in the bucket. That took enough pressure off the right side pin so I could remove it. Looks like the pin was mushroomed on the end a little. Had to happen when they installed it. I worked on that spot and then polished and greased it. Comes out like it's supposed to now. Thanks again. Really appreciate the responses. Bill
