Yesterday was like heaven... today so far good but near record temps expected soon.

It should give comfort to know California has taken action by banning the sale of new internal combustion vehicles starting 2035...

Add this to the already prohibition against new Natural Gas hook ups, California is at the forefront.

Thing is the grid is already maxed out at times and also responsible for some of the largest fires when lines arc...

Solar, at least the solar production for me and my neighbors dropped to near zero due to both smoke and ash filtering the sun...

2035 will be here before you know it...

so i forget...why dont you move.

Calif is nuts....i know i used to live there. ban gas cars bu 2035, ya right. well, i guess every square inch of land will have to be solar arrays and wind machines to produce enough electricity to power all houses, businesses and cars. wont be any room for people.

This is a GOOD Friday. Several days in a row - no evidence of wildfires. And, since midnight - 0.10" of rain. And the rain continues.
That's all the rain you have received! Wow, my gauge has recorded 4.05in for the last two days. Raining pretty good now. Winds finally died down. Some big winds too. Mt. Rainer at Camp Muir recorded 100mph winds and pure whiteout yesterday. Sadly a hiker died caught in the incredible weather change. His partner luckily made it out. I've done this hike before about this time of year.

And when you all plug in your electric cars and bikes, how is that going to help the 'grid'. Good luck California.

I know, I know... it's getting harder and harder to be here.

Just when you think you have heard everything a zinger comes... and with great fanfare too!

Maybe the plan is to start a mass exodus to lighten the load but then who will put out the fires???

all the new wind turbines will blow the smoke to other states.... maybe thats their ultimate plan.

The power will come from Washington of course... Governors of CA OR and WA have a plan....

I heard about the combustion vehicles thing, but not about Natural Gas hook ups. So they're planning on all buildings going all electric from this point forward? With an inadequate electric power grid?

california, or at least some jurisdictions in this communist state, have outlawed natural gas hookups. i am not sure if they have outlawed propane tanks, but im sure thats next.

Yes... that is the plan... passive solar and electricity through renewable resources which somehow doesn't seem to include biomass or wood... I think it was said by then President Carter that America's forests are America's renewable resource and even offered tax credits for wood stoves back in the 1970's...

When I think of all the timber going up in smoke and the hundreds of millions spent to mitigate hundreds of fires it sure does seem to make the case for mismanagement...

If reports of forests burning being the new normal wouldn't it be better for the burning of wood to produce something useful or harvest for timber... which has shot up to the stratosphere in cost... all the builders I know have contracts with built in lumber riders to cover the doubling or more of lumber.

Natural Gas kind of came out of nowhere... many programs and incentives to go natural gas or even convert wood burning fireplaces to gas... just like the 70's when installing a wood burner was the patriotic thing to do against OPEC embargoes.

The Bay Area has taken Natural Gas off the table for most new construction... restaurants said cooking all electric in problematic...

Clean Burning Natural Gas is the new bad boy... now that Diesel and Gasoline are on the way out...

I do see many electrics or hybrids around the neighborhood and on the roads... Doctor parking lot majority and some of my neighbors only have these...

Toyota and Tesla very popular but also seeing German higher end making inroads and to a lessor extant domestics...

I do have friends that really like their Volts... and sad to see they are going away.
