New garage time!

I'm sure I'm missing or forgot something on here, but what is the lift for? How often would it be used?

Due to the amount of space a lift will take up, and the potential for something to go bad with it over the years, why not add another garage door to the second floor and use your skid steer to lift heavy stuff up there? Or buy an old forklift? You already have the driveway, so space isn't an issue. Just cut out your framing and install a header for a 9 foot roll up garage door. 9 foot doors are super cheap to buy at Lowes, and they work great. Or get an all glass garage door and really make it fancy!!!

Or maybe french doors and a narrow deck.

One thing to remember if you use a winch is there is no brake, when you quit lifting gravity will drop it down. We had a supervisor at work who wanted us to build a boom to change spindles on a CNC, it worked out good for the guy who took the 12,000 pound winch home when it wouldn't work.

An electric hoist 110v or 220v lifting size that you determine can be installed usually on an "S" style metal beam size determined by hoist, and after you lift your big screen TV up you can push it a long the beam away from the hole.

Maybe or maybe not?

So I needed a lathe to make the driveshaft adapter for the new engine for the bobcat. Apparently lathes are expensive, even the harbor freight job was $800, so I got to looking online. $1500 up to infinity, until I found this guy for $350, an hour away from me. So I loaded up the truck and 2 guys, trailer, built a 3 wheel dolly, and set off. Boy was it a job but we got it done.

The thing had to weigh 1500lb, I stood at the light end and could barely lift it. On the heavy end I couldn't move it at all.

Nice. I'd make a guard for that belt.

Nice. I'd make a guard for that belt.

The wires for the motor are 2 screws, completely unshielded. There's also exposed gears throughout the thing. It was not built with safety in mind.

I just don't want you to catch a sleeve on the belt by the chuck.

That motor looks big enough to run an elevator. ;)
