Ok, changing out this pto shaft seal on my '89 3910 really isn't that big of a deal. Except I reassembled it all and left out the bushing the seal runs on because I was in a hurry to go watch my Razorbacks whoop up on MSU. Anyway, I got it all back in the machine, after a little adjustment to that pesky internal ring way up in there. Then, I started adding hydraulic oil and noticed oil was pouring out around the shaft. That's when I realized I had left out the bushing. So, I had a choice, 1) Pull it all back out and disassemble it all again or, 2) Tap the bushing on from the outside. I chose the easy way and tapped it in while everything was still on the tractor. Worked like a charm. Has this happened to anyone else, and how did they fix it?
