Looking for Yanmar YM165D hydraulic parts Help please!

My Yanmar YM165D three point hitch doesn't lift. My mechanic friend diagnosed that I need a new plug and spring (items #19 & 21 on attached image from the Yanmar parts manual). Neither seem to be available in N. America. Hoye Tractor says they are not made any more, although the spring was in their online catalogue until recently. Any ideas to source these parts?


Part numbers (from Yanmar parts manual) are:

194200-46450 plug
194200-46420 spring


Or any idea on the specs of the spring? I think I might be able to improvise with the plug but will definitely need a spring.

Is your old plug and spring completely missing? Those seem like they would be pretty unusual parts to have fail. If the spring is just broken then you might still be able to measure it to find a suitable replacement. I think that is the safety valve so if the lift was raised with a heavy mower, for example, and you hit a big bump or something it would drop the implement instead of breaking something. I should have that complete head assembly used if it comes down to it but I could not part it out for those two pieces.

Hi Aaron, I tried to order the parts from Hoye but couldn't. I did order everything else I needed.
The spring is completely missing and the plug has been replaced (previous owner) with an improvised one. Could you measure the spring and maybe attach a photo? Thanks!

They are all still in tractors but I will try to get one out tomorrow and get you a picture & measurements.

Here are the dimensions of the spring. It takes about 10lbs to compress about 0.25".

Harbor Freight has spring assortment boxes pretty cheap. No idea whether one might match.

I think he has more salvage tractors than just these. His previous CL ads showed a long line of tractor corpses.

Well, a spring at the same length and diameter is close, but not the same. Thickness and spring hardness are also items of interest.

At a yard sale last year, I picked up a box of NEW trampoline springs for only $1. On the farm, something can use a spring usually.

And Winston, that spring kit from Harbor Freight has bailed me out a few times. Once on the rototiller and again on the B+S Lawnboy mower recently.
The tiller took the big one and the B+S needed one for the carb.
