Speaking of driving habits,
lets take this a different direction.
Just got my renewal billing for my automobile insurance,
so I started calling around for quotes will likely be changing companies again did it about 5 years ago for several $100 yr difference,
getting the same differences again.

Now for the question has anyone used Right track or a similar program were you plug in a monitor that records
your driving style and sends the information to the Insurance company.
I'm hearing a 10% discount just for agreeing to use the monitor for 90 days and then possibly more of a discount after.

I did wiht State Farm for a couple years. Discount for having it, discount for low mileage. No tickets, no accidents. Then I had close encounter with a tree stump while getting into positon to load wood and dinged the door. Cosmetic but I put in the claim. Bang, rate raise and lost my discounts.

there's a whole series of videos on YouTube about this, they call them karma... ;)

and we all have been passed in some crazy manner just to meet the passer at the next light. I just wave

I call the "compulsive passers". Will squeeze in a pass when one can see strings of traffic ahead. They won't gain anything but the just "gotta pass".

But pay no taxes (other than retail purchase), demand perfect asphalt (narrow tires) obey no rules of the road (stops, turns etc)
Yep, you got my goat!

"A person operating a bicycle or roller skis may pass a vehicle on the right at the bicyclist's or roller skier's own risk."

Yeah but if your passenger opens the door you get a heavy fine and demerit points here (Quebec),and that's often not avoidable with their speed and driving habits. Often simply come out of nowhere.

Washington state just modified the law. Bicyclists do NOT have to stop at a stop sign if it is safe for them to continue. Why can that not apply to a vehicle!!

My wife was with with state farm since she started driving to age 34. Never a ticket, never so much as a dent in the car she drove for all those years. She got into an accident where they decided to total the car (due to crack in the axle although the car only looked like the front right quarterpanel was busted in pretty good). They were going to like double her rate after on accident after being with them for so long with NEVER having a claim. We were getting married and deciding on insurance carriers, put her on my Allstate plan after that, and anytime we see anything from state farm, in the the trash it goes.

They pay more taxes.

I was behind a tractor trailer that just stopped short of entering a roundabout yesterday. Cars piling up behind me! Ten minutes later, a car did the same thing at another.

I thought, the whole point of roundabouts was to NEVER STOP, nomatter what.

That doesn't even make sense. If both lanes are full what are you supposed to do, run into them?

Totally agree!

A vehicle that accelerates away from a stop sure pollutes much more than if it slowly eases thru safely.
But that's the law! $$! (Not a cash grab!)

I'll admit I'd be much more tolerant of bicycles if we could enjoy the same perks.

Like a BIG fish in a small pond. The minnows just better get the heck out of the way!

It's funny, when I drove through the more Urban Roundabouts Yesterday( In Kitchener Ontario), I noticed the pedestrian component of the Roundabouts. I never even considered that, nor had time to anaylize how that was supposed to work, as I was too busy avoiding a collision. I gotta say, if I have to negotiate these things with transport turcks, pedestrians aren't on my radar. They do minimal body damage by comparison. lol

Shouldn't be to hard to figure that out. They typically go much slower than most vehicles, and are less likely to hurt someone if they screw up and run into you. If more people rode bicycles in stead of motorize vehicles, we'd all be much safer and healthier. Full disclosure, i don't ride a bicycle.
