They're just idiots. They don't know what a cruise control is for, and they're facebooking or instagraming, or whatever, instead of driving. They probably do it more out here on the rural routes than in town, because they feel that the straight road demands less attention. But they're still inconsiderate idiots.

Out here our rural roads are generally not straight. Major freeways are about the only straight roads we have. I seldom drive on a straight road and seldom use cruise control.

True enough... Gooy, you need to make a drive over to the dry side where the freeways aren't jammed up. Enjoyed our extended our last weekend trip to Walla Walla. Got to exercise the cruise control!

One thing I do like about modern electronic cruise control (least on my buggy) is the fact that it will engage down to 22 mph. I use it in school zones (25 here) all the time. Saves my foot from modulating the fuel pedal and saves my wallet from a citation in as much as local LE likes to roost in school zones.

Now THAT......is a GOOD reason for using cruise control!

Yep. We have 3 schools within 4 blocks of each other on my way to work. I set the CC at the posted limit in the school zone and just putt along when school is in session.

I also use it in town. Many of the lights are timed. I set it, everyone piles up behind me. They all get mad, yet we all make the lights. Ungrateful, I tell ya!!!

School zones here are 15mph. When I drive that slow you know it's hard to steer and I can't get my car out of second gear...

I wish botrh my truck and car wouldwork that low. best is about 29 for both of them. I did have a car many years ago that would hold 25.

Never occurred to me, I'll try that as well. Lights are also timed here.
