That looks scary... did houses get lost?

100s of structures have been lost between the Cameron peak fire, now 4 miles from the city limits of Loveland and colorado's largest ever fire, and the calwood fire just to the south of us which has burned 9000 ish acres in just a few days. the picture is of the ridge above the city of loveland. we could see the lights from the fire trucks and the trees catching. Calwood to the south is also visible in a similar manner.

luckily the last couple days have been cold and wet. not a season ending event but certainly has allowed the fire fighters to play a little catch up and plan the next attacks.

there is also the left had canyon fire a little more south and west of here.

This is the East Troublesome fire in Colorado my son in law is working. Bottom picture shows the fire threatening the heliport they have been flying out of.

That East Troublesome fire grew 100,000 acres overnight.

and this morning it established on the east side of the continental divide. the town of estes is under threat, and is being evaced in stages starting from the west. all road leading out are closed and 2 lanes avalible for evac.

my inlaws are on their way to our place about 30 min. east of there.

this is all crazy. pray for snow, feet and feet of it. it is supposed to be cold and snow tonight. the fire ripped through the town of grand lake last night and people were trapped in their homes it came so fast, they could not issue evac warnings fast enough to keep up with it.

My good friend is in the San Luis Valley, Alamosa. He's SW of the lower fires in Colorado. He's hoping winds continue from the West.
