2004 NH tc35da mystery part?

i need help with finding out what this part is & what is it for its on the rt side of the tractor above the oil filter it looks like a bolt in the block but it has a drain tube on the bottom side of it it has been dripping antifreeze for 6 months about 1 drop every 2 weeks now its getting worse what does this part do & what is it called so i can order one from my dealer . thanks brad

British Standard Pipe Tapered. Seal with your favorite tape or dope. You probably need a new one.

has anyone just replaced the coolant drain with a bolt? & do you know the threads on it ? i see bolts 1" british standard pipe thread 11tpi 55 degree for $3

Bolts will probably be BSPP, the fitting is BSPT.

As long as it doesn't self destruct rather than unscrew like they usually do. Far more of these fittings get replaced than ever get re used.

The problem is if you do not have a new one on hand, or your “local” dealer does not have 1 on the shelf, and as is frequently the case, it comes our twisted beyond reuse, then your tractor is down until one can be gotten. In the supply process with today’s virus crap, I would not touch it until I had the new part in my hand.
Remember as it is a coolant drain, it is hollow, and from your picture it looks to be corroded.
