I was at Dewalt a few years ago discussing gas vs battery. The engineer had a thimble and a 1 liter bottle on his desk. He said a thimble of gas was equivalent to a liter of battery in power density. This is why electric vehicles are successful in limited markets. Technology advances will certainly change this over time, but as others have said, it's storage of power that is the limiting factor presently.

I think that the tractor you have is called a "Fordson Major".
A very different animal.
The tractors simply refrred to as "Fordsons" were last built in 1928.

My own Fordson E27n is a "Major", but it is not a "Super Major". Nor is a Cork N. It was available on Steel, but mine is on Rubber. There was also a factory offering fitted with a Perkins Diesel 4cylinder engine. Nice kit!

I also had avidly collected literature on the model. I have a collection of the publications put out by "TrackPrez" "For the Advice and entertainment of Tractor Enthusiasts Everywhere"

I put together an e-bike last winter. It's a kit with mid mount motor at the crank pedals, battery and controls. It's a "pedal assist" type of thing.
Put it on my 20 year old mountain bike. Wee Haa! What a pleasure. It sure flattens the hills, bucks the wind too. I get about 100 miles to the charge. Put over 500 miles on this summer. Rode it today for about 15 miles , it was only 40 degrees and windy. I still get back to the house sweaty.

Next on the wish list is one of these

California has rolling blackouts now...more battery powered vehicles will only make that worse when they mandate electric vehicles.

True true. Plus I know a guy who can't get electrricity beyond 10kw a day now... because i said so.
