Tractor
Ventrac John Deere1025R Kioti CK2610
I needed a tractor at a 2.5 acre lake property I recently purchased in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I needed a tractor to move fallen timber, clean up brush, plow snow, move firewood, and help with general lifting and maintenance. Being this tractor would get limited use , I was wanting to stay away from the premium money spent for Orange and Green tractors. I have a JD at home and like it but for the premium money spent the JD IMO is overated. My research began with what I classified as 2nd tier and a bit lower priced tractors. (Kioti, Mahindra, Ls, New Holland, Rural King etc).

I soon narrowed it down to Mahindra, or Kioti. After calling around and talking to a few dealers, The Kioti dealer, Wards, in Houghton U.P sealed the deal for the Kioti CK2610. They were prompt, courteous, professional, and very competitive on price. And they delivered the tractor no charge, 2 hrs away.

After 2 weeks working with this tractor and getting to know it's capabilities I am very impressed. The loader capacity on this little tractor is great. The HST transmission along with a "Linked Pedal" is a joy to use. I never used a linked pedal before, but it now is high on my list of options. At nearly 3000lbs plus loaded tires, it's a heavy tractor for it's size, and you can feel the stability that weight offers. I feel like it's got a very tite turning radius, and the steering is lite.

I have a bucket, carry all, pallet forks, and my 55" EA Wicked Root Grapple will be delivered hopefully in a couple weeks when the dealer receives it. Overall, so far this is a great tractor. The comfort, ease of operation, and ergonomic layout of all the controls I put the Kioti way ahead of my JD. So far.. The Kioti CK2610 was a great, choice. I would NOW not consider Kioti a "Second tier tractor" it's top shelf and great value in my opinion, On top of that it's just a great look'n tractor as well.

Congrats! Pics or it didn't happen. Including the lake property! :)
Hmmm, 2 hours from Houghton, easiest guesses would be Gogebic or Michigamme?

Is your lake-front parcel pretty flat, or do you have any hills? Reason I ask, is I keep waffling between the 2610 or stepping up to the 3510 for my next tractor. I have a decent grade on my property, 30' of elevation gain to my road frontage. I would like to be able to run in high range up the hill when taking my trash bins up to the road, or whatever. So I guess my question is: do you find you can use high range often with a load or hills, or does she stay have to stay in medium?

Care to share your pricing?

It's flat, if hilly I would maybe leaned to the 3510. However with 3 ranges low, med, and high. I'm sure the 2610 could manage some grades. Low is super low, and plenty of power. For general running back and forth the linked pedal and high range is a joy. Carrying loads and slight grades I was using medium range, still decent speed.

Tractor,Loader, linked pedal, hydraulic top link, and EA wicked grapple with 3rd function kit, few other odds and ends mid 20K. Autrain Lake

Awesome Tractor and welcome to the Kioti family. I also considered it a 2nd tier tractor and after 585Hrs, I have nothing but praise for my hardworking Kioti.

I'm at one year on my CK2610HST and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I have about 4 acres of mountainside property. Snow clearing is its most important job on my 400' gravel drive.

I use it for grading quite often, as nothing here is flat. As to climbing my 20% grade, that's a job for medium gear unloaded and low gear if really loaded down.

Euro style chains are a must, even with loaded rear tires, here in the mountains of NH.

Had a JD & Kubota, if i ever get a fourth one it will be another Kioti, they are definitely not a "2nd tier" line, as you found out they do the job......

A whopping 20 hrs on mine. So far so good.

Check your front axle fluid level. Mine was a quart (946ml) low as delivered. Seems to be a common occurrence. Also your front axle pivot grease zerk may not take grease when you first attempt to service. Also seems to be a common occurrence. Usually means the cavity is full, and it will take grease when it needs it.

Good luck with the new tractor.

Agreed.. the CK2610H is a workhorse at only 25 hp. Only one real issue on mine (hydraulic leak under the joystick due to o-ring failure, seems to be related to having the 3rd function). The manual is terrible but TBN fills in the gaps!

Do you have a grapple consider doing this adding brush guard like it did It値l cost you 50 bucks in a few hours work it痴 well worth it my tractor was brand new this year and I was very careful in the stick went right through the lower part of my grill cost me $95 in about 2 1/2 hours of labor replacing it. Now I don稚 have that problem or what you can do you can do expanded metal to the back of the grapple. That would also help
