I needed a tractor at a 2.5 acre lake property I recently purchased in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I needed a tractor to move fallen timber, clean up brush, plow snow, move firewood, and help with general lifting and maintenance. Being this tractor would get limited use , I was wanting to stay away from the premium money spent for Orange and Green tractors. I have a JD at home and like it but for the premium money spent the JD IMO is overated. My research began with what I classified as 2nd tier and a bit lower priced tractors. (Kioti, Mahindra, Ls, New Holland, Rural King etc).
I soon narrowed it down to Mahindra, or Kioti. After calling around and talking to a few dealers, The Kioti dealer, Wards, in Houghton U.P sealed the deal for the Kioti CK2610. They were prompt, courteous, professional, and very competitive on price. And they delivered the tractor no charge, 2 hrs away.
After 2 weeks working with this tractor and getting to know it's capabilities I am very impressed. The loader capacity on this little tractor is great. The HST transmission along with a "Linked Pedal" is a joy to use. I never used a linked pedal before, but it now is high on my list of options. At nearly 3000lbs plus loaded tires, it's a heavy tractor for it's size, and you can feel the stability that weight offers. I feel like it's got a very tite turning radius, and the steering is lite.
I have a bucket, carry all, pallet forks, and my 55" EA Wicked Root Grapple will be delivered hopefully in a couple weeks when the dealer receives it. Overall, so far this is a great tractor. The comfort, ease of operation, and ergonomic layout of all the controls I put the Kioti way ahead of my JD. So far.. The Kioti CK2610 was a great, choice. I would NOW not consider Kioti a "Second tier tractor" it's top shelf and great value in my opinion, On top of that it's just a great look'n tractor as well.
