Lynn, good to hear from you, and always nice to see your pictures. You are one of our most talented photographers (credit to your wife too)

put together my new Craftsman tool cabinet, went together easily, very nicely made, made in US:thumbsup: and is the bottom to my only tool cabinet that
didn't get sold off. I think the top was glad to have its bottom back...

working on painting the metal shelving in the garage which was a seriously rusty mess. Got the rust fix on, now waiting for temps to warm to put on top coat.
Lots of stuff coming in today and nice to have a place for it. Made room for the generator right inside door, will wait for help with that this weekend to get the wheel kit installed.

...

Wife and I worked on clearing the pasture fence lines all weekend, and have most of it done now.......

While we were out there, we started looking at the rest of the south fence line that runs along the field behind the pasture. We'll be starting on cleaning that one up next Spring. Wife started talking about maybe fencing that section of the field as well, once the fence line is cleaned up. That lead us back into the conversation about mowing out there. We talked over the merits of a larger ZTR mower versus a RFM for the tractor. Both have good points and bad points. Guess we'll beat it up over the winter. No hurry for that decision, so long as it's before the guy farming it plants next year. It would be about another acre-and-a-half to mow.

My Wife enjoys mowing almost as much as I do, Rip. She calls the Husqvarna ZTR "her" mower. She also enjoys driving the tractor, and is probably using it today while I'm at work.

....

Argh on the clearing fence lines. Is hard work. You have barbed wire in them?

On the ZTR, yeah...same issue here now. Looking at an RFM later today. Wife likes tractor more. Especially when the bug landed on her. I reminded her it was fall. The bug population is not nearly what it is in the summer time.

The ZTR is just plain LOUD. I run full throttle with protective equipment on my head, but I still tingle and get beat up running the "lawn" at full speed. LOL.

Yeah...RFM, tunes and A/C. Yeah....

Good morning all, 49 going up to 75- normally the low would be the high around here. Sunny

Drew - only 10 min from you if you need a hand.
Popgadget - very cool plane. I used to work around a lot of planes, but oldest I was in was a WWII trainer.

Saw mill work went well Friday - got two 2" thick , 7 foot long planks cut. Start to finish about 1.5 hours. May use the bottom of the cut trunk as a bench for behind the garage.
Two planks put to temporary use as benches for movie night Saturday.

plank20201107_095213.jpgMovie20201107_144252.jpg

Some findings
1) 20" bar is just big enough for what I needed. I can see why a 30" would be ideal.
2) do NOT move the saw angle while cutting, as it leaves marks. If I let the saw glide, the cut was nice and smooth.
3) Ripping chain worked great
4) use some very well matched blocks to set thickness. I used markings on bar and it is off a bit side to side.
5) the Cs-490 did really well and had more than enough power with the 20" bar to go at a steady slow speed through the trunk.
Having the trunk raised up during cutting makes like much easier, I did these cuts in situ and still feel it in my back.
Check oil/gas before each cut so you don't run out.
I used an 8' PT 2x8 screwed to the trunk for first cut and that worked pretty well.
Wood was Ash and about 10-12" wide.
Very happy I went with the Granberg- nothing loosened up and felt pretty safe during the whole cut

Stay Safe and be well.

69°F and .04 inches rain and very blustery. Wind will have to die down significantly for me to be able to paint today.

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Got up to 45° early, 75 now. Big rains headed in midweek.
Had a follow up with plastic surgeon this morning re; the chemotherapy on my ears. Seems they were completely clear now, good news for sure.
Couple spots on my forehead have to be treated, then I’ll be as pretty as ever!
I’m trying to decide what to do this afternoon, sitting here on the deck with doggie is looking pretty attractive right now. I keep turning the switch and keeps going back to “Energy Conservation Mode”. We will see.

Have a good’n y’all.

Hard work, indeed. In all, over three days total, we dropped and cut up and piled up about two dozen trees. Still have some stump removal to do, but at least now everything is out of the way for the new fence.

We had several trees that some combination of old wire fence, barbed wire, and electric fence wire had grown into. We were able to identify 99% of them before cutting. One, unfortunately, was identified a little late as it mangled the chain on the pole saw. :censored:

Ken and Paul, thanks for your offers of help. Nice to have you both nearby.
Happily, an hour late for their delivery "window" the truck finally showed up and he backed down the lane and
put the pallet with the gen on it right in my garage. Unit is physically smaller than I thought and thanks to the pallet, came with
an undamaged box. It left Reno NV on Oct 22...

now waiting on some help this weekend to unbox the gen, the bandsaw and the drill press, all way too heavy for me. Did get my metal shelves painted but need to let them
dry overnight until I start piling things on them.

Ken, I like your seating. Making your own wood from scratch sounds very satisfying.

Great looking benches, tell me about your movie screen, like how big it is and where did you get it.
What do you do for sound for movie night?

Good morning all,

It's been a long time since I have been on TBN. I have been working on my yard. (mostly done now)

It's 20 degrees right now and windy, supposed to storm/snow most of the week. I'm ready though, put the snow blower on the tractor last Saturday.

Hope the best for everyone.

Howdy stranger!

Love the outdoor theater, until it gets too cold. (around 68F for me :) )

Busy at work, just wish I had energy like when I was 40 still. I overdid it a little this past weekend.

Roy, hope the leg gets better.

My wife woke up 2 days ago with neck pain. This is somebody who works out often and is in shape. She's never been to a chiropractor, and is asking to go to one. Do any of you have any experience with going to a chiropractor infrequently?
