replacing headlight bulbs with LEDS

Buy a newer car. They're all LEDs now days. Have been for 7-8 years, at least. Except for maybe the throw-away cars.

Mine are aimed properly even though my truck has a lift kit. They were checked during the last annual State Inspection. I just love it when people flash me thinking I have my hi beams on. I give a quick flash back then they turn on their high beams. I return the favor and melt their windshield. :licking:

One issue with LED bulbs in an Incandescent fixture is the reflector design. Believe it or not, but the reflectors focal point is designed for the incandescent bulb. The LED build will not put its light on the reflector in the same way, and it will cause a lot of light scatter. Not only does not make it as bright as it could be for you, it also makes it appear quite bright to oncoming traffic even though it it aimed correctly. They do dazzle the heck out of other drivers. Depending on all the many variables, it could be slightly bad or very bad. I don稚 wish to start an argument about right, wrong, legal or what痴 brighter or not, but in this case physics says the story. Now of you get a whole headlight replacement (housing and bulb) that would likely be better than just a drop in bulb.

As for tractors, all the more light the better!!
One issue someone may have with LED bulbs is during winter when snow blowing.... LEDs don稚 get hot like incandescents to melt the snow off the lenses.

The problem is I don't have a lumen meter but I can measure amps & voltage.

Are you sure about that? I have one in my pocket. Your smartphone has a lumen meter in it. All you have to do is download the app. There are many to choose from on Android and I am sure The apple store has them too.

I'm not so concerned about the headlights as my loader is usually blocking them most the time anyways but I'd be interested in swapping out the lights on my cab for some LED lights. Honestly I'm surprised Kubota is not using LED lights to begin with.

Come on butt-wipe, it's figure of speech. The other guys lights are on high already. I'm just trying to help him see.

Get over it. And go show what a bully you are somewhere else. There, you finally got the response you wanted. :stirthepot:

Butt wipe? Really. I didn't want a response from the peanut gallery (you), just stating what inconsiderate people like you do.

Your 'figure of speech' and mine are 2 entirely different things. I'd never make a comment like you did. All that showed was your lack of intel and inconsiderate attitude. Nothing more.

My brand new MX5400 doesn't have LED lights.

I wonder, do tractor manufacturers upgrade or improve a model over time? I dont believe the Kubota L60 line has changed since they came out 6-7 years ago.
