Woodworkers and crafters, have we ever seen these?


1 in. x 15 ft. Ratcheting Band Clamp

I have a couple of them I have used to help hold pieces in place when I build some wood shelves for my shop. All glued, no nails or screws.

Same here. I made a HF stop on Saturday and saw the same sign. They were out of stock on the 5 mil gloves and I’m too cheap for the 7 mil gloves.

I used to buy them at HF regularly and did sort of stock up by accident. Still have three or four boxes of the 5mil, and a box of the 7 and 9mil I think they are.

... about 3 cents a pair. These are generally used for food handling - making a sandwich for you at Subway etc. Our family uses them for pumping gas, after we read that gas station ATM's were the dirtiest and most covid-likely location found in a research study. They go in the trash can before getting back in the car.

They're too flimsy for shop work. But they are suitable for one-time use mixing pesticides etc where you simply want a barrier to your hands.

And to think how I managed for so many years not wearing nitrile gloves. I only have infrequent head twitches. :laughing:

I am pretty good about pulling a pair on whenever I am working with shop liquids as I am wising up on chemical absorption through my skin. Hopefully not too late.

I like the thin ones (5mil) for mixing Round Up and the like and for greasing the tractor. The thicker gloves are better for real work.

Y'all use hand diapers for that kind of thing? Only gloves I use are for cold weather and more recently for handling certain sharp metal.

For bug and weed sprays, I rinse if I get any on me, which isn't often.

But even at that, I don't see sticker shock. $19.99 for 50 pair is about 40 cents a pair.
