The digital hours meter on my 2010 Kawasaki 610 Mule XC constantly shows 32 hours. Do I need to replace the meter, or is it the power going to it? I sort of would question thinking there is no power, if it still shows the 32 hours all the time. Oh, and one other thing - someone mentioned on another post to check the fuses - but that would beg the question, again, about no power if the meter is always lit up. What fuse would be in question?

Thanks.

on my mule 4010, the hours are always showing with key removed. when i start it up, the meter always flashes 000071.0 for 1 second, then shows hours again. not sure what this means. i pulled my meter out and there are only 2 wires to it. when i disconnect the 2 wires, the meter, which is digital, stays displayed. weird...must have some kind of internal battery. no voltage to wires until i start cart.

OK, so if it will display without any power to the meter, that MAY mean that I am not getting power to my meter. I also get no flash on startup. Good place to start. Thanks.

i looked at my fuses, and there isnt any for hour meter. my guess it just comes off of keyed power on to accessories fuse, but i cannot find a wiring diagram anywhere.

Yeah, when I looked at the service manual, there were only 2 fuses - one 10 amp, and one 30, but no indication as to what goes where. However, I would think that more than one thing would be on each - and nothing else is amiss other than the hour meter, so I'm going to assume that the fuses are OK. And yes, it comes off of keyed power, which would explain grsthegreat's comment about how the meter does not get power until he starts the ATV. Thanks for your input.

On most of those digital meters, the hours always show and then an hour glass symbol is displayed when hours are counting.

Ah, that's helpful. I bought this Mule used, and never noticed that. There is (currently) no hourglass in the display on mine. Sounds more and more like power. Tomorrow I'll pull the hour meter and put a volt meter on the two wires coming to the unit. Thanks.
