The top level drops I just paid .63
I picked up a couple lengths each on 11/17 I took the weights off the internet, that would affect the $ if wrong. I used to know 1/2 the crew, thought maybe I used to get a better deal. This is retail price.

West coast. Pacific NorthWest. Sometimes your best bet for drops isn't at the metal yard at all. I've bought used structural pallet racks for the metal several times when I needed channel as example. Flat bar from guys that made those heavy trendy table legs for cheap. Did good though at the drop rack yesterday. About 370 pounds worth.
Express branch of Metalico, no deals. You need sumtin sit next to Olindo building wid sign & offer cash before trucks go over scale on street. Olindo thinks it's funny. Metalico get over it. Lot of good steel come down dat street.
Klein was better when dey over by Glide St in old Leach Steel building. Got best selection in town tho.
Used to be a saw shop on Curlew too, not sure dey still der. Klein might have killed dem.
I've seen 20% price increases in some items in just the last 4 months. When does the government publish the cost of living index? I'll bet that the index is "only" about 1% in-spite of what we're seeing because they change the "shopping cart" to show what they want it to show.
The scrap yard I go to has different prices for all sorts of stuff, but if they don't think it's worth more like random pieces of steel plate or pipe or whatever is $.55 a pound where I go, most things they set aside that are worth more they want going rate for good shape even though what they have has been sitting out for years... but it's good to wander around there sometimes and try to put material to an idea... and most of the time not have to buy a whole stick.
