I have 54" forks on my little forklift and I really like the extra length compared to the normal 42" ones. I have 8' forks on a big lift we are using now and they suck. Between a rack that is packed with cylinders and my eyes needing new glasses, you can't really see the end of the forks and have to have a spotter. As far as the SSQA plate, if you can weld a standard plate could be modified for the telehandler. SSQA plates run in the $350 (look rather cheap and imported from the land of people who are not good welders) to pretty nice for about $700. Cut the back off of the one that you are getting on the telehandler and graft it onto a new adapter plate and you should be good to go and have money left in your pocket.

I don't want to do that. It has tilting forks........... Lull Fork Titl Carriage.jpg
I want to keep them intact. But I may swap out the forks on my skid steer plate for these forks.

The land of not so good welders is also the home of cheap chineseium steel that a telehandler will rip apart in no time.:drink:

Brandi, I am curious to know why you bought a full size telehandler instead of a compact like mine?

I kept looking for a Bobcat, but they were too new to be in my budget range. I also wanted a little height to hang roof trusses. I was told on HEF, don't to stab the forks down into the ground while moving as the transfer cases/transmission can't take the strain. What about sitting still and moving the boom with bucket into a pile of dirt?

My grapple is pretty tough. Hit a root, while moving forward in granny, I didn't see and twisted my loader's crosstube that bent the skid steer mounting pads out of alignment. The grapple didn't get hurt. We will see how well the skid steer adapter is while handling 5,000 pound logs.

From what I have read it would break the boom where it goes down to the attachment. But yours isn't as long as most fullsize, so it might be OK. I think all of the compact telehandler brands are approved for digging with a bucket.

This is where they break on the fullsize:

This is a V518, Bobcat's first compact telehandler, notice the difference:

Wish you lived closer I'd haul it for you. You are 1,000 miles from Baldwin. With patience you'll find a hauler that will do it for you. I don't know what to expect for cost? Maybe $2.50 per mile?

Okay, on the gooseneck (my term). That all makes sense now. What about gravel? Sawdust removal will be one of it's duty with a huge, light weight bucket.

It's 20160 pounds. You can haul that? I already got numerous bids and will go with next to the lowest bid of $1924

Nope, exceeds me. :)

Yes, those are good bids. Anything under $2,500 would be great!!!! Times are hard. :)
