Guess it depends where you are, you can up register for some things in VA, my truck is registered for 1k over its door sticker.

As long as the axles aren't overloaded and your registered for it (i.e. paying them)then they don't really care.

I hear you , But if the tag says 16k and you have 17k its overloaded in the cops eye.....

No go on the sticker staying the same explain that to a DOT cop...........

I’ve done it In PA with an MV41. In PA you can get a certified inspection mechanic to sign off on increased GVWR within reasonable limits. You get a new title and new registration. Did it with my IH dump truck and an F-550.

TMGT is right. We get weighed on each axle. If you are registered higher than door sticker and have MV-41 to comply, you should be good. However you still can’t be over on any one axle.

I think in the case of the trailer, it’s easy to jump from 16K to 18K if both axles are rated for 8k, there’s always going to be some pin weight distributed to the truck.

Exactly, especially if its a goose or can have a high tongue weight like my heavy 10t. Its a 10t carrying trailer with 2 10k axles, the tongue is designed carry the full weight of the trailer which is close to 6k lbs!

At this rate I'm about to just build one for you!

Everyone is either discontinuing DODs or they advertise 8 foot wide and theyre NOT.
Sure glad I didnt order the Diamond C last week. That would have been a big mess. Dealer is CLUELESS.
Called Marshall Machinery once more-they claim they will get back to me on LT (not betting anything on it).
Will do LT triple 8 IF 8 feet wide inside.

Sure Trac did verify width

Exactly, especially if its a goose or can have a high tongue weight like my heavy 10t. Its a 10t carrying trailer with 2 10k axles, the tongue is designed carry the full weight of the trailer which is close to 6k lbs!

I have a Kaufman with 2) 16k axles. GVWR is 38,500lbs (20% pin).
PJ 2) 8k axles GVWR is 18,400lbs (15% pin)
Sure Trac 2) 8k axles GVWR is 16,000lbs (0% pin).:confused:

I guess there could be another weakness in the trailer that doesn’t allow GVWR to exceed axles, too.

So 16ft long, 10k axles with single 17.5, a 98" inside width with fold down sides. One piece hardox floor and hardox sides. Goosneck right? Lol

So 16ft long, 10k axles with single 17.5, a 98" inside width with fold down sides. One piece hardox floor and hardox sides. Goosneck right? Lol
96” or more width
18” fold down sides 10ga
3 way tailgate

And a Deck on the neck and twin jacks.
7ga floor and a wet bolt kit would be nice, too :laughing:
