Kubota bucket capacities

wondering if anyone has a source to find out what are the volume capacities for various Kubota buckets may be?

Wondering what the yardage (cubic feet or whatever their standard measurements are) for:

50" standard bucket on my B2620
66" light material bucket on my L3301

Which loaders do you have? The bucket capacity is usually specified in the manual for that loader. If it’s the LA525 by Kubota, the 66” square bucket’s struck capacity is 8.1 cu. ft. The heaped capacity is listed as 9.9 cu. ft.

The 50" is 5.5 cu.ft struck 6.5 heaped.

The 66" is 8.1 and 9.9

I thought I'd try to piggyback here instead of starting a new thread for my question. Anyway, I am finalizing my purchase of a B2601 and had specified the 54" bucket for the LA435 loaded but the salesman told me he has the 60" in stock and usually sells it.

The reason I'd picked the 54" initially was because Kubota calls the 60" a "light materials" bucket. I feared it wouldn't stand up to any dirt work or gravel carrying. But the salesman indicated it is not more lightly built. We speculated that Kubota uses that designation because, being bigger, it can be more easily overloaded and damaged.

Now, 90% of my anticipated use for this bucket is scooping mulch. Definitely light materials. However, I surely will do some carrying of gravel. And digging and moving of soil after ripping up with my box blade.


I'd appreciate any advice. I know the 60" would be better for the mulch. I'm just not sure if it holds up as well as the 54" for more solid materials.

The mulch and gravel isn't an issue. It is the digging that has provide us challenges. I ended putting a toothbar on my 72" bucket and that gives a strong solid edge to cut into the dirt.

I bought the optional add-on cutter edge and bolted it onto our bucket. What a world of difference. Post #6 is the advice i would follow.

If it were me, i would get the larger bucket, add an optional cutter edge or tooth bar to beef it up, good to go, as long as your tractor can handle the larger capacity.

My impression is 60" will be fine but if my main work was digging, the 54" might be advised?

I do also plan to get the small digging bucket attachment sold by Artillian for any real hole digging/light trenching.

I would just jump right on the 60 inch bucket if your tractor can handle the additional capacity.
Only reason i would ever get a smaller bucket is if i had places i couldnt get a 60 inch bucket into.
I know 6 inches isnt a lot of difference to some folks, but at the end of the day, its all about the numbers.

On the B26 were two bucket options with the more narrow bucket being heavier per the Wholegoods price sheet. Also prepunched to accept a Bolt in extra cutting blade option. I didn’t buy the tractor new but came with the narrow digging bucket.
I prefer a narrow bucket or grapple for in or around buildings and in the woods. On the M59 the 5’ long bottom skidsteer bucket has the about same volume as the 7’ OEM bucket. Narrow bucket digs easier.
