Choosing just one grease..

The pistol grip and lever action Lube Shuttle grease guns are approximately $60~$70 delivered.

Compare to other name-brand grease guns, such as from Lincoln. The Lincoln pistol grip grease gun on Amazon is ~$40, but uses the traditional design with the follower-rod, handle, spring, etc.

Other brands and models show anywhere from ~$15 to $50 for traditional design grease guns.

The Lube Shuttle introduces a new design, which does away with the follower-rod and other components below the tube.

I viewed the Lube Shuttle grease guns as a +$30 premium over traditional design options, and the screw-in grease tubes aren't much more than traditional tubes, although the variety is limited, unless you fill your own tubes and buy the empty screw-in containers, as Mangler describes above using the bulk pump adapter. Note, the screw-in tubes are reusable, unlike most traditional grease tube refills.

$15 for TRC Paragon 3000 in screw-in tube from Lock-n-Lube when bought individually (buy two or more for free shipping, and discounts kick in when buying a box of 10 or more). Paragon 3000 is about the same price in a traditional tube.

Agreed, the Lube Shuttle model that is an electric grease gun is expensive, but a battery-powered grease gun from any company is going to be expensive. Lincoln makes one for ~$330, and it uses the traditional design with follower-rod.

Linked below is an image of the pistol grip Lube Shuttle with Lock-n-Lube attached (plus swivel and NPT adapter), and a tube of Paragon 3000 grease in the screw-in tube.

I agree, the 30$ premium is really worth it not to have grease oil drip all over your shoes next time you grab the gun...If you don't mind pistol grip, and you like the Paragon grease, that Lube Shuttle combo is unbeatable for usability and value IMHO.

It is really too bad they don't partner with a known tool manufacturer and offer a bare battery tool that uses their standard battery. Couple that with a good grease partner (Amsoil, Shaeffer, even Citgo) to provide good grease in the screw on tubes, their market share would explode.

Mobilux EP2 grease. $47/box of 10 on Amazon. It's one of the recommended greases for the Kubota KX040 mini ex which will certainly meet the needs of any loader pins.

I use the red traveler grease from TS for wheel bearings in a separate grease gun.

The Mobilux EP2 is just OK. i certainly would not pay more than $4.70 a tube for it. TDS is weak, no water washout spec, weld point is quite low at 250kgf. There are better choices out there. I certainly would not use it on my mini ex, IF I owned one :)

Humm, well this is one of the recommended greases to use right out of the operator's manual. I try not to overthink what the manufacturer's engineers recommend. Here's what the Mobil site lists for this grease:

"Mobilux EP 0, 1, 2 and 3 greases are recommended for most types of industrial applications including heavy-duty applications where high unit pressures
or shock loads are present. These greases provide excellent protection against rust and corrosion and resist water wash-out which makes them
particularly suitable for equipment where moist or wet conditions are common."

I know the usual reply is "use what you want, it's your machine...", but I challenge anyone to point out a failure resulting from using the manufacturer's recommended oils/greases, etc. If you can, I bet it's an extreme rarity.

Indeed, it is your machine. This basically has General Purpose (GP) grease specs. So it's just that, general purpose. You can get 2$ a tube grease with similar specs. If you like greasing your mini-ex, I'm sure it would not be the source of failure. Mini ex loads are usually quite low, considering. But there are way better greases out there. Lithium base can also be a problem if you want to switch it out later by the way, not the most compatible.
