Sounds kind of like a bribe.

Hardly a bribe!
It simply means that you should do your buying where you get good service, and avoid the others.

I get that a lot of stuff isn't so important that it's gotta be delivered on Sunday, but the delivery services are being swamped this year, way more than normal. Not likely they'd be able to deliver everything M-F.

I've been seeing a lot of ads past few days by UPS looking for temp workers to deliver using their own vehicles...$20/hr, plus 57.5「/mi. and a cell phone stipend per day (not sure what that's about). Don't think I've ever seen that before.

GPS???

You look at de volume any carrier moves in a 24 hour day it's amazing they succeed as often as dey do.

Probably a Utube4boobs of FedEx Memphis hub but I never looked for it. Dang spagetty bowl of conveyors wid interactive humand Frank Smith put together der. Even got cages ssome places wid signs "Unsafe for human entry" cause robot in cage not human friendly. Post office & UPS got similar.

Post Office got an extra feature, 89 day wonders. Employees who know dey got exactly 89 work days to down de road. No benefits & no rights, might get to come back another 89 in different job, might not. Not exactly good way to build a work force, but dat how Post Office works.

Dey have got whole lot better den back when employees were all Congressional approved for hire, dey wore old Army uniforms and every package had to be wrapped in paper and properly tied wid string. Dey also pissed awaay most der package business to UPS. Still got too many politicians friends in management.

Now nearing the end of tenth day, for a USPS tracked delivery from 649 miles away.
Nothing in sight yet!

I've mentioned this before, possibly even in this thread. A few years ago I purchased a wrench for the breech plug in my BP rifle; just a long 1/2" steel cylinder about 9" long, machined on the ends. At the time USPS had tracking and you could tell where your package was at all times. I watched it leave Florida and come up the eastern seaboard, moving right along. Then it got to a distribution center in Massachussets and it stopped. For a full week it sat there... then started moving again and arrived in my mailbox. I've always wondered if some sensor or dog kicked it out because of the shape, business of origin (gun shop), or maybe a dog who smelled gunpowder residue.

Probably fell off conveyor and got found during weekly flor raking. You lucky label still on package. Post Office got baggies dey put rest f rakings into to ship on to people dey find addresses for. Dey got pallets dem bags at sorting enters.

I find Amazon worship by some, to be very much cult like!
I do use them occasionally, but absolutely avoid if other sellers have the same items at equal or (often) lower price.

Don't think I've ever known any "worshippers", though I do know a few Amazon haters. Never got that. I'm with you...I'll buy from them if they have the best price, and will usually check there when I'm in the market for something, but their prices aren't always the lowest.

Speaking of Amazon, I've noticed they're offering something called "hub lockers"...apparently a space at a local business where you can have your order shipped to, and can pick it up at your convenience. Ordered something last week, and that option came up...just for grins figured I'd try it. Should be there end of the week.
Might be an option for some of you who have problems with delivery companies.

I'm not sure, but I think the "hub deliveries" are not free.

Unless there's a fee charged when you pick it up it seems to be. There was no extra fee at checkout, and the purchase was over $25 so I got "free" shipping.
