Just because something is pseudoscience, or dwells in the mystical, magical, call it what you want, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Science is just the “known” that is repeatable. No one claims we know all there is to know. There’s still a lot of phenomena that is unknown, and as such, unrepeatable. However, we can still experience it.

True that.

This is funny. I just hired a well driller for a new well at our farm; he walked around and threw a yellow flag in the ground. I asked why there, and he said because it's the head of a long dry run, always water there. I must have made a face, 'cause then he says, don't worry... we'll witch it first to be sure ! Like that was the end of the discussion. I'll let ya'll know how it turns out...

Well dude just called and said he'd be out early next year... Want's me there when he "witch's" the well... :confused3: Why Not???

At least he has that yellow flag to help him find the best spot!!!

I'm a skeptic, except that I've seen it work too many times. I've also seen someone holding that stick upright, and the bark was peeling right off the stick as the branch twisted in his hands...

How come no one can reproduce it in controlled conditions? EVER? NEVER? Not once. Ever.

Heck, I'd come out there and walk around with some bent wires, you'd see them moving around and I'd tell you to put the well "there" and I'd bet you'd get water.

Ah, but could you tell him how deep and how much water to expect?

Yeah. I'd go to his county offices, pull the records of every well in the past 20 years in his area, take an average, wave some frankincense around and call it magic. ;)

Pretty much every well driller in an area can tell you how deep your well is gonna be and how much water it's gonna produce based on past experience with the area.

40K in dry holes and no water...

Went both with a Dowser and then with sounding and geologist and core samples...

Both said lots of water... both wrong...

Went down 800' with one rig...

Ironic because across the road is a hand dug well that is bottomless... go figure?
