I did not believe in using sticks to find water until I met the one who did all the wells in our town in MA.
Went around with his stick and told my uncle where to dig and how deep.
Well guys came out and drilled down the 200' that was recommended, they did not question at all where or how deep.
That well is still running high flow almost 40 years later.

When I talked to the drill guy, he said our property was on top of a big underground flow, but it was deep and they could not find it with their equipment, so they called out the guy with the sticks to find it.

Found out later, every person in town needing a new well went to this guy and he was 100% accurate.
Maybe he knew the land too, but wow could he find water.

Paul Harvey the news commentator. ? Gave this answer when asked about seeing UFO's why Farmers and Old country folk were seeing and not the group that would know what they were seeing.

now I've forgotten also. anyone else remember. ?

I did some research looking for the answer but wasn't able to find Paul's exact words. I do remember Mr Harvey from days when Granddad shushed the room and turned the volume up to listen to broadcasts. Not Mr Harvey's words but I think this midgt be close to how he might answer. Many farmers and old people start each day kneeling and looking skyward before daybreak. WOA there now before rushing off to hit that "report post" button and have me censored for making you uncomfortable by talking about non-secular matters. Ole Jax is studborn and has deep convictions but he also know's how the forum boss feel's about them so it's the straight and narrow. Farmers and old people's legs are usually tired and as a consequence they often sit or kneel. While resting, old people and farmers take the opertunity to look skyward long and hard in search of weather indications that play an important role in their daily life. Well sir with all this star gazing wouldn't you expect that crowd to notice what's going on up in the,,,,skys? Now you take them folks that "know what they are looking at" living where things are going on,they are like the farmer's duck, web footed and don't give a hoot,if it don't rain they'll walk. The sidewalks are too dirty to sit or kneel and if they looked up they couldn't see stars, clouds and all that other stuff much less a craft in the sky. That's the answer tempered as I think Mr Harvey would have me to rather than saying something that resulted in censor. As for well witchers and and other people able to do things that don't offer equal opertunity or simple explanations, here it is in easy to understand language. http://https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=You+Can%27t+Handle+the+Truth+Movie&&view=detail&mid=F5D77DD5FE8EA81AB4EAF5D77DD5FE8EA81AB4EA&&FORM=VRDGAR&ru=%2Fvideos%2Fsearch%3Fq%3DYou%2BCan%2527t%2BHandle%2Bthe%2BTruth%2BMovie%26Form%3DVDRSCL%26%3D0
