2020: A Utah Odyssey

There is very little originality (uniqueness) in the world today...everything is copy-catted...nobody thinks for themselves...(even the topic of this thread was something copied)...

I miss guys like Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor...!

Criticizing stupidity seems to be a challenge any more...!

I watched 40ft tall robots go hand and hand with people in movies, on earth (Transformers). We are quickly reaching a world of illusion. Unless I see it in person it’s hard to take stuff seriously. It’s VERY easy now to edit what we see on screens.

Still an interesting story I will follow.

Maybe they are just sky scraper seeds that have sprouted and will grow up into a tall building.

You are assuming they are fertile; if so, there must be some huge pollen around somewhere!
I'm with you on a world of illusion. A couple of things I have seen lately, makes me stop and question...one was a fireworks display that was alleged to have been put on by the Japanese; it was so remarkable that I checked it out; turns out it was computer generated. I also saw a Christmas light display supposedly put on by computerized drones, but I cannot believe that a compute could control hundreds of drones so perfectly that they didn't waver, drift off or collide. We best remember what we were taught in our science classes; that is don't be afraid to question.

And when a theory is proposed based on all the scientific evidence, if a single instance does not match the theory, you have to go back and correct the theory. Science is based on facts not consensus.

That's true as far as it goes, but you first have to thoroughly investigate the single instance and the reason that it is different...I have run enough experiments to know that the exception may have inadvertently been slightly different in its conditions...for what ever reason...and was not a true test of the theory. I have seen this particularly in biological systems, where substrates were contaminated or the bacterial strain was not pure, or some such...easily explainable.

Yes, I agree with that.

Can you imagine what you could do to an enemy with a fleet of computerized drones, each carrying a 1000 lb. bomb?
