john deere 2 series

I bought an "almost new" 2025R built in Feb 2020. and now for the irony... In that month, COVID hit, I lost my job of 12 years, then the compact tractor market went to heck with dramatic supply and demand imbalance. The new market is still whacked out... But my deal was done private sale in November 2020... Sure, I wish for more loader capacity on some jobs, but otherwise just admire the Deere 2025R's ability to handle all the projects I throw at it with FEL and 3pt work. Also drove Kubota, Massey and Kioti machines at 25 to 26hp range... The Kioti CK2610 was a beast in FEL hydraulics and stability / weight that should have won, but I just couldn't look at the Korean orange paint for years with a clear conscience. Further, the import "crate tractor" Kubota and Massey foreign supply chains couldn't supply new product which didn't inspire confidence in the long run on support and maintenance. 'Merica.

Hate to tell you, your Deere is as "Merican" as a Kubota and Massey, LOL

Yeah really. Aint no small murrican-made tractors anymore. Maybe some assembly
We ran all that business out of the country and offshore decades ago.

Tractor Time with Tim did a video on the smaller JD tractors, like 1 and 2 series where he toured the factory where they are made. I was surprised how much of the tractor and part are made in the USA. The engine is Yanmar but other parts, like the transmission are made here.

When I took the seat apart to remove the shipping plastic off my 2025R, a label said "Made in India"!!!

When I was looking at a 125HP farm tractor on a JD dealers lot, I looked at a used model, maybe 10 years old. I got underneath and the front axle had “made in China” on it.
My John Deere CX-15 bush hog gear boxes are made in China  The rest was made in Mexico.

Sorry @Paystar & @Hay Dude, but as others said America is actually able to build quality products as we always have... Here's is the proof my 2025R was really "Made in USA": Deere Factory Tour! 1 Series - Where Your 123e/125r/225r Is Built! - YouTube
Since 2016 or so, Deere moved assembly on 1-series through 2 series back to the US instead of white-labeling Yanmar tractors. And more importantly, the entire machine was re-designed and major sub-assemblies are US made. 3 series were generally between Augusta and 4 series generally Moline though they shifted more to Augusta of late. So these are not crate machines posing as "assembled in USA". Nor does Deere use "mostly offshore" components. True, global supply chains are involved and the BOM (bill of materials) likely shows a mix of something like 70% US / 30% foreign based on the labels and stampings I see on mine. Yanmar makes the diesel engines and I see ROPS and other engine electrical parts from mexico and china, BUT now American engineers designed and American's stampe/weld/paint/assemble frame, wheels, line assembly, structure, FELs in the US. I work in electronics manufacturing and live in Georgia and Deere should be getting a lot more credit for bringing work back to the US so... Not just edawg, but "'Merica Dawg"

Believe me, nobody wants American made more than I. I think we should make darn near everything here. And of course I recognize American made quality.

I just get a kick out of people who support policies that drive American industry offshore, then cry when nothing is made here anymore.
Like I said, I own Deere equipment with Made in China stamped in the castings, so I dont know what to say other than I see better than I read :confused3:

Deere has billions invested in making products in China and many other countries

There is quite a bit of my 2025r made here but I agree, plenty of parts are not. That’s going to be the case with just about anything though.

Same with Kubota. Many parts made here, even the steel.

As far as the US and Canadian made is better thing......I'd love to believe that. And wish it was true. But my last Mexican made Freightliner had far superior build quality than the 2013 and 2020 Western Stars I ran.
