Maybe I'm just getting old, but to me part of the experience of eating out is going, looking at the menu then deciding when I'm there. If there's going to be a long wait, I'll go somewhere else. I'll order a pizza (for pickup) on the phone, don't think I've ever ordered any meal online. I suppose this could be appealing to younger people but it doesn't have much appeal to me.

Totally understandable. I don’t see it as mutually exclusive modes of service. So if you prefer a ‘regular service’ style of experience why not enjoy it?

But when You maybe want a nicer experience would it appeal to you to be able to order and pay online and make a reservation?
Then just show up on time and go right to a table and enjoy the company of your guests until the drinks and food arrive as planned with out unnecessary interruptions. To me that should enhance the experience of the food and company without rushing you.

How often do you go to a regular place and get the same table, order the same entree from the same waiter? If it’s pretty often wouldn’t that give the servers more time to actually do their jobs and take care of their guests better?

Priority mail shipped from MA on Dec.14th arrived Atlanta Dec.24th .... 10 days!

Medicine (small package) shipped from Alexandria, Va Dec.14th got to Oxford, Ms Dec.20th (about 80 miles from me). Still has not gotten the remaining miles. That's 7 days in Oxford Ms.

So, is it relaxing to go to a restaurant and get in line for a table, then get seated and wait for a menu and wait for someone to take your drink order, then wait to place your order, then wait, and wait and wait for your food, then wait for drink refills, then wait for your plates to be removed and then wait for the check, then wait for someone to come get the check and then wait for someone to bring it back with your card?

If you do then you probably really do like Burger King.

Actually I do like a leisurely dinner out. Relax and enjoy the evening. Visit with our friends that are with us and have some laughs. Eating the food is secondary to the evening’s experience. Your experience would be worthy of a discussion with the manager.

Burger King doesn’t serve cocktails so no, we don’t dine there....

I'm thinking the "printing the label now" is just another con to get your money faster.

If it's Amazon Prime or eBay "Fast & Free" and it is not shipped within 24 hours of when you placed the order, Amazon and eBay take a very dim view of that and will ding the seller.
Someone I work with has a side business selling on Amazon and eBay and they do pretty well from what they say.
They don't like shipping to Arizona because it is significantly more expensive than most of the other states and it takes forever to get there (comparatively speaking).

I placed an order with Cabelas and another with LLBean... both are looking at about 2 weeks out. To me that's reasonable, especially since both are getting shipped for free. If I wanted them sooner I would have and should pay for the privelege.

We placed an order with HomeDepot.com yesterday and they said it would be delivered by Jan 3. Free shipping. 7 days. Including New Years Day.

When my brother worked for UPS they did a lot of marketing to the affect UPS delivers to more places than the USPS and the camp at the bottom of the Grand Canyon is a place showcased.
