Just got my brand new MX5400 and want to get a hydraulic toplink. The dealer says I have 2 options. One that travels from 21-29 inches and one that travels from 26-34 inches. I have no idea what the pros cons are to each. Any input?

I use a rotary cutter, blade, box blade, tiller, and a disc.

My link has a 21-31" in length on my MX. I use a quick Hitch with an adapter link and it's seems to be perfect. I can lengthen it with the adapter if needed but haven't needed too yet. I think I would stay with the shorter one with a quick Hitch and the longer if not using a quick Hitch. The 31" would be too short .

Measure eye to eye on your current top link when it is at it's shortest (compressed) length and fully extended length and that is what you want to try and match.

Tractor Supply has several, Agristore has them and there is a vendor on here, fitright, that sells them

Yup. Match the OEM manual link lengths, unless you or somebody else has a reason for doing something else.

I'll 2nd Fitrite. Not fast (typically over a month or 2 lead times last I knew) & not cheap, but quality gear that fits perfectly. Orders of magnitude better than the crap my dealer got & tried to hack on to my L4060.

Current lead time for hydraulic links is approximately twenty-four (24) weeks.

Take a look at this link. Find something that is close to matching up to put the cylinder pin-pin distance to match when extended half way.

I typically provide a 2 1/2" dia cylinder with a 1 1/2" dia rod having a working length of 23 1/4"- 35 1/4".

Keep in mind that the base end uses a cat 1 (3/4") pin and is only 1 3/4" wide ball swivel and the rod end should have a narrow (1 3/4") cat 2 (1") end.

You will not find this anywhere but from me. But you might get close enough and with a few modifications get by and not have to wait almost 6 months.

Or like so many others, might find that it is worth the wait. :confused3:

Yes with 170 plus orders in line, I am currently quoting about 24 weeks for the lead time. ;)

I received my top link from fit rite not too long ago, and I can assure you that is was worth the wait. The fit and quality was excellent, I got the hoses, restrictors and couplings as well.
I called Brian to discuss hose routing and he was very helpful, even sent me chafe sleeve at his suggestion.
The bottom line is get it from Brian at FitRite, you won’t regret it.
