Aw come on Peter!
Everyone SOUTH of the NH state line has a cell phone with camera!
I have lots of pictures.

Hello Fried 1765: How about a few pictures of your low hour L-48 that is now in like-new condition? It would serve to make the rest of us jealous - considering the great deal you made on it.

I do not know that I made a "great deal" on it.
An equipment savvy friend told me that.
He might have just been stroking me.
I dunno.

Here are the pics of the valve setup. There looks to be two to the rear which I am assuming are associated with the two larger handles, one handle for each set of ports on the rear?. I have not figured out just yet what the three small ones control just yet as I have not found ports that match up. It could be the small pack of three is connected with one of the larger handles?

I have mini-X and Kubota TL experience, and I used to own an ASV 60 tracked skid steer that had a high volume pump. That plumbing setup is not the same as this so I am hoping yall can identify what this setup is.

Looks homebrew to me. Your first step may be to draw up what you have. If you don't read hydraulic circuits, there are several basic free self study courses online. If you do, here is a hydraulic schematic for the stock L48 to get you started.

That is VERY different from the Kubota supplied 3 manifolded aux valves that my L48 has.

Homebrew... that's a good one.

Thanks for the schematic, very helpful. I can read that stuff. I did take a few short courses on "open center", "closed center", etc. so I have the basics of how to interpret it.

Clearly I am nowhere near an expert, or even knowledgable, but I got this feeling I will be getting smarter soon as sheet breaks or does not work right. GAME ON! The dealer is on the hook to deliver a fully operational rig with a 30 day warrenty. The kubota dealer is right down the road and I have them set up for a non-intrusive evaluation next week. I think the dealer is squared up so it feels right I will skip it.

The set of 3 do not appear to be doing anything. There is one pipe and one pipe out if I am looking at the picture correctly. It looks like (maybe anyway) the lower pipe with the L at the end was originally connected to where the top pipe is connected. If so, you could simply remove the whole 3 valve setup and connect the L end of the lower pipe back up.

Nothing wrong with home brew if it is done right, but if you have all functions that you need without the extra valves, I would take it off, it is just adding restriction.

Using "Homebrew" to describe mechanical projects is an old, old term. I wish I'd invented it, but I'm just recycling.

Your Kubota dealer sounds like a good one.

For those who can benefit from some more hydraulic ed, the best short course I know of online is from the magazine "Fluid Power". It is very basic - sort of high school level - without any math; just the visuals. But I found it great for filling in symbols I missed learning.

BTW, we still have an old style dial phone that we plug in when the satellite system goes down..
