What is sad is that the cast of Gilligan's Island, like other shows of the time, including The Brady Bunch, were not paid residuals after five or so reruns per episode. The producer and networks made millions of dollars but the cast got nothing.

Dawn Wells is interesting, because she was good friends with Mrs. Howell,(Natalie Schafer), and took care of Schafer in her old age.

Dawn Wells also went off on a sailboat in the Pacific at one point in her life. It was NOT a short three hour tour and they did not get ship wrecked. :laughing:

There are many of us that would have volunteered to be her deck hand.

It’s one of those shows that was very popular where I grew up with as reruns, probably in the early 70’s.
