I am one of the owners, kind of the operator for lack of a better word. I build the buildings. Yes the shop is used every day. Its not very sophisticated, I really rarely use a drill press. I am such a MdGyver and have shortcuts for everything. I had a fire about 25+ years ago and didnt replace some stuff and kind of moved in as needed and really wasnt interested in going down the machine and fab road at the time. I live on rickety rural power and didnt feel like another layer of equipment and its really too far out for walk in biz.
I got a couple 10 welding machines, a torch and chop saw along with the battery tools and couple chests of stuff and another pickup load of stuff or so, real simple. My neighbors have machine although UI rarely need it. Back in the day we were in the potato biz with more moving pieces and job shop built stuff but shopping and parts are so much easier and faster and so much can do from the auto parts store and my scrap pile that I rarely need to machine anything. I stock some stuff, I kind of master it with the same equipment I use forever.
So, the place is really a few tools with a bunch of shelves with stuff I use all the time in the place I use it at, a station or bay system.
Here is the engineering dept.

I am a master of finding just the right thing, straight cut in the chop saw, run 1/2 a rod on it. Its set up somewhat like a pit stop and focuses where our high duty cycle is, hot pressure wash, weld, mechanical, auto/truck/.

Reason its that way is for common cables. I ran across the exhaust pipe job the other day The fit was rolled tight when I zipped it with the wire feeder and I didnt get real fussy but it sealed and 15 years later where its all weathered it looks really good. I should have taken a pic, I might if it happens.
I ran across some of these well weathered and they really look great, at first in this highly magnified pic they look crude and they are somewhat. I had found a box of 6010 I forgot I had and they were fingernailing pretty good and I did a lot out of position. Was about .200 wall maybe but hand plasma cut, very crude clean and fit and weld it in single pass to be water tight.
